Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

I can't find Sex Gang Children on Soulseek??
Is there a reason behind this?
I've tried several times and there's been no results.

Search for the titles of albums that they have released instead of searching for their band name.

I don't think I had any problems finding Sex Gang Children on Soulseek... very weird. Any censorship must be a new thing, or maybe it's just because no one is ever on Soulseek anymore (or so it seems. A lot of things are harder to find now).
If any further searches fail my username is Cicero, so if I'm ever online just browse my shared folder and download whatever you want.

Has anyone ever thought of setting up an FTP server on a VPN network? That would be very useful for trading music and the like.

I have no trouble finding anything else.
Is there a username search? I have no idea how to have a look at that.

Do you have the most recent version? They don't all seem capable of communicating with each so it's possible if you have an old version that any search you make won't show results from everyone online.

Well I only downloaded it within the past year so it could be? No idea.
When I'm un-capped tomorrow I'll try it again.

Even though it may not solve your problem, it is definitely worthwhile to upgrade to the newer version.

I can't find anything on soulseek anymore, so I've headed over to blogs. Do a Google Blog search, and you can download them via rapidshare or mediafire links.
example. You can always narrow it down with the album name.

Soulseek is brilliant, but like the gnutella network you can only get stuff when someone sharing it is online. I find depending on where you live good stuff tends to come around at different times of the day.

Soulseek is so fucking slow. Seriously, Megaupload is your friend.

Yeah, it's a website used to upload files and no matter what you are looking for, at some point someone has uploaded that album to Megaupload. So if you want Sex Gang Children stuff, pick an album, go to Google and put in 'sex gang children [name of album] megaupload' and you'll either find a Megaupload link or a blog that has posted the album and has a megaupload link inside.
