Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

BEST EVER "DEATHROCK" SONG
I got this from a poll on another website.
What one song is the best example of "DEATHOCK"
Recorded in the middle of night during the dead of winter in a haunted slaughter house before a crowd of several hundred freezing fans. I have to admit it's a pretty good example of what deathrock should be all about.

Do you agree? Do you have a better example? Does anybody know any great "unknown" songs from the past?

My favorite deathrock song would be Romeo's distress by Christian Death or perhaps Dead and Buried by Alien Sex Fiend.

That thing won't work on my computer, either.
"Cavity - First Communion" by Christian Death and "Breakdown and Cry (Lay Down and Die - Goodbye)" by ASF are my personal favourites.

Definitely enjoy Theater of Ice's work, but I think Rozz has this pwned ("Stairs" from Only Theater of Pain is a very scary song to me followed by anything by 45 Grave)

Hmm. I know that Fahrenheit 451 used to practice in an abandoned meat locker.
I've always wanted to hold a show in the hay loft of an old abandoned barn in the middle of nowhere. There are a lot of those here in this part of PA, I believe. Maybe have the set recorded as a live demo or something. We still need more songs and practice (and a fill drummer for that sake) before we can do that.

It really hard to find a good drummer isn't it Haunted House? I found one though, but he just started playing. Make sure to record on 4-track, thats the way to go!

MIRON, I trust you knew that posting this thread would result in 23985109483650239486528943 posts containing "lololololo rozz williams christian deff!!!!!" Hahaha.
"Graveyard Mary" by Screams for Tina is a pretty great deathrock song.

It wasn't that I was saying it was the best deathrock song ever (although the more I hear the more I like it). It came from a poll on another site. I thought it was interesting cause it was not a song I was even familiar with and it wasn't from one of the big name groups. I'm familiar with THEATRE OF ICE, but hadn't heard "In The Attic" before.
From the other site I gathered it partially won because of the legend of how it was recorded and because the band was actually around before CHRISTIAN DEATH.
