I really like the looks of most boots but I'm a chubby (read:fat) kid and have problems with boots that aren't well-made for larger calves.
Edit: Wow . . . I say "like" way more than I should.
Edit 2: PS: American stores would be preferred.

This site has some good boots, and the link its directed to is my fav pair for shorter boots. Probably not what youre looking for, but go to the shoes, they got platforms-shoe like boots some where. I hope. Good luck.

Hmm, those all seem to have actual heels on them. And I don't do well with those. I think I'd fall off and break myself.
I perused this thread for a bit and went looking, as a result, at the New Rocks boots. I REALLY like these but that's quite the investment for shoes I'd likely not wear more than once a week. I mean, I'm willing to fork over the cash if need be, but I'd prefer a similar product but cheaper, even if I did have to sacrifice quality. Anyone got any recommendations for said request?

You could keep an eye on ebay. I see those lower New Rocks on ebay quite often. You might want to check out Swear shoes, they make some lower funky boots. Transmuters used to make ankle-length versions of their boots, but they're heel is probably higher than you're looking for. As far as your calf size, all of the New Rocks I've owned have fit me well in the calf area-and I ALWAYS have trouble with that. My calves are about 16" around, and most boots don't fit. I have a pair of knee-high New Rocks that fit my calves perfectly...with room to spare even.
Pennangalan has some lower boots, but if you're willing to shell out the money, Pennangalan will custom make boots. They can modify their boot styles, and also have a "made to measure" option where you send them the measurements of your calves at 3 inch increments, and they make the calves of the boots to fit your legs exactly.
Once you wear New Rocks though, you will probably find yourself wanting to wear them more than once a week, haha! They are sooo comfy.

All this talk about New Rocks is driving me nuts.. I must look them up. Grrr... Might sway me away from my fav-o-shoe.
I rather like the large clunky shoes myself really..

People I need help!
I just ordered a pair of 5 inchers off the net and they're due to arrive in 3 weeks ^^
And then I thought: What could I actually wear with massive platform boots?
Any ideas for styles of trousers, pants etc?
thanking you in advance!

I prefer capris, skirts, or boot cut pants. You could always go with hot pants and matching legwarmers if that is the type of thing that floats your boat.

Skinny jeans tucked into the boots work well. I just got my 5 inchers a few days ago and that's the first thing I thought of. I'm not much for skirts, so skinny pants or work shorts (but I would highly advise against it.)

Thank you!!
Yea I'd probably steer clear from the skirts. I never really liked the whole guy skirt thing.
Everything else sounds like a great idea though!
And tindy, they're not that hard to walk in. Just needs a bit of practice :]

Demonias :] (mega-618)
Although, I have 2 pairs for the last year and a bit, and they're still perfectly intact. I've just never found any problem with them.
Cheap and fashionable ^^

Ok so... I got a new pair of boots. The reason I got them was for the sole, though only time will tell how long they will last. (Don't pay any mind to my dusty floor)

Right away I found a few things that I didn't like about them.
1) The shitty craftsmanship, though it's to be expected with Demonias
2) There is no inside zipper
3) The boots don't fit well around average sized calves.
4) The upper straps and ankle straps are velcro, when they should be buckles considering that I have to really squeeze my legs into 'em. Not sure how secure they'll be.
5) Not much support in the ankle area, but again, that's to be expected.
Overall, I rate these boots a 4 out of 10. They look good, but I'm sure they'll fall apart in no time flat.

God damn, Saddiction...
I'm getting in the market for a new pair of boots myself. Domonias will work fine for me. I have yet to see anything wrong with the pair I have and they're in perfect condition, if a bit scuffed.
I'm looking for something that has at least a 4 inch sole or more, with a minimal design.
The reason being is because the last time I was at ConFuzion, a buddy of mine came in sporting the exact same boots as me. The problem was, I was in a miniskirt and he was wearing his loud and proud over a pair of brocade pants. It was embarrassing and I know from experience that brocade does not go well with the boots that we were wearing. I know first hand.

I purchased these a little before halloween and I absolutely love them!

Granted, Demonia's aren't well known for their "sturdiness" but considering how I don't wear mine often, they usually hold up for a few years.

Closest thing I have to combat boots are a pair of revolvers (which isn't really that close):

Wowsers! That's a whole lot of bootage!
Questions: How do you get them to stand up like that? Mine always droop.
