Yeah it wasn't noticed until after the patient was extricated. (removed from vehicle)
It was placed in a plastic bag and sent to the nearest trauma center along with the patient...to be placed back together.
Other patients...different wreck...same day...
One broken sternum. (chest plate)
One broken humerus. (upper arm bone)
Two displaced shoulders.
Also got to land a helicopter in the parking lot as one was already on our landing pad.
Fun day yesterday.

Once I stood near a landing pad while a helicopter was taking off. It was... cathartic. I find big wind has that effect on me. My friends and I applauded when the helicopter took off. Good times. I hope the person was OK.

Wow ... seriously? Umm ... lots of thoughts about that ...
First, Xng - very nice pic ... and another cofirmation that makeup and black clothing are not a measuring stick ... and yes, I said you were very Goth.
Second - went through a number of entries before I got bored ... is this an exercise in "look how good my photoshop skills are" or "look how much black clothing, makeup and or blood I am wearing" or "look how well I lobby my friends to vote for me?" (Xng, I know you weren't doing that.)
Third - some of the names crack me up ... "so_goth_it_hurts" ? LMAO!

Yay!!!!!!!!
Finals week is officially over!
I'm going to lay around, catch-up on the boards, go clubbing and do nothing in general for the next month!
Feck yeah!
Here is some randomness:
Herion goes together very nicely with my two favorite hobbies:
Laying around and doing nothing.

Even femur guy? Wow, that is good news!
I just learned that when Pink Floyd recorded "The Wall" in 1979, they kicked keyboard player Richard Wright out of the band. Then when they went on tour to promote the album, they hired him as a salaried session musician.
The stage show was so mammoth and expensive to produce, that the tour lost money. The three remaining band members had to pitch in to absorb the exess cost. And that's how Richard Wright got fired from the band and ended up being the only one to make money off of the tour.
And justice was served! LOL!

If you think winter recess is great, just wait until that period of time right after you graduate where you have no responsiblities whatsoever, save a job perhaps (although one big negative is the dread of the upcoming "transition into the scary real world")...which leaves but one rational choice....GRADUATE SCHOOL.

ben and tenet - thanx.
and xnguela - you're hot no matter what. y'know what i like best about your 'hotornot' pic? beneath it it says "share her with a friend". that kicks all kinds of ass.
medic - did you get to keep the femur?
and everyone feeling sick - i hope you feel better.

Whoohoo! I'm posting this from my cellphone!
And commercial Playdoh wasn't that salty ... but Mom's home recipe version was VERY salty!

E_E...no we dont get to "keep" random body parts we find on scene.
Your DNA pretty much says: "That shard of bone has my name on it!"
I wish though...I could make a pretty interesting collection. I got to bag up a guys ear one night. They can't just reattach those, ya know. Not enough blood flow to the cartilage. That would have a been a neat addition, too.
