This is the quiche that I made.
I'm really really awful at cooking, I get distracted and overwhelmed and panic.
Over the last 18 months or so, Ulf has been teaching me how to cook over Skype voice chats.. and it's working. We usually research a recipe together, and then he goes through it with me step by step before we even start it and talk about all the things that the recipe takes for granted that people *should* know.. like what caramalised onions are.
I did this today without any help at all.
Although, there may have been about 5 minutes where the smoke alarm went off because I forgot to open the back door while frying onion. We just won't mention that to Ulf..

I might have jumped the gun when I said that hot cocoa made my day.
Watching World War Z and finding out that Peter Capaldi plays a doctor of W.H.O. did!

If you are learning to cook and need to know the basics Martha has a great series of short little clips called How to Cook that teaches everything from fundamentals to knife skills to how to prep common foods, it is broken down by category and each clip is very specific and kept to just a few steps. They are good for people of any skill level, some of it is as basic as how to properly measure but even people who are pretty skilled in the kitchen like me can use it to learn and sharpen techniques like how to clean a squid. She also has a How to Bake series which is basically the same thing for baking.
I kind of hate how much I use her website but the lady is good at what she does.

Got so distracted talking about food I forgot to say what made my day.
Jake finally got his orders!
Also there is a Navy PCS office that doesn't get used much (everybody else uses the Army one) so they were able to get our move all set up for the 12th even though it is only a week away.

Martha is too good to resist. I tried, I really did, but I do buy a lot of her products.
Also I learned a lot watching the first season of Worst Cooks in America. Kinda like how Canada's Worst Handyman showed me how to install a toilet.

Aby - that looks delish.
WMMD - Realising that I'm coping slightly better and feeling less 'dead end'. There are a few factors that have probably contributed, but whatever it is I'm grateful and hope it keeps going this way.

Saya, I know! You can kind of sense the evil radiating from her but damn it I was really excited when my cousin gave me a subscription to Martha Stewart Living and I actually keep them because of all of the helpfulness they contain.
Food Network has a show called How to Boil Water that in theory should be pretty good for learning basics but something about Tyler Florence just makes me want to punch him in the face so I've never watched it. I think that is probably the most amazing thing about Martha is that I know she is evil, I want to despise her, and I hate her in theory but watching her inspires no anger or agitation.

Having my college try to lure me back into enrollment today was pretty entertaining. I’m a MGTOW autodidact now, the only thing I'd use the Pell grant for is to pay the debt I never should've fucking had. I will never go to college again, they treated me like a robot and an ATM machine from day one. And all colleges are on a side of “social justice” that villainizes me for being born male and white, which is why America’s male enrollment is dropping, of which I don’t have any problem with. As far as I’m concerned the world would be better off learning with college buildings vacant from lack of funds.

Today I woke up and had no headaches, lately I've been waking up with chronic headaches. The weather change is annoying me, I'm so glad I woke up with no headaches this time.

Got myself a small, simple weight set. Gonna grow myself some awesome lady-muscles. Yay! Gotta be able to lift my sword when I'm out larping LOL. Nerdy-fitness FTW!

A few weeks ago my housemate and I went to look at a house and FELL IN LOVE WITH IT!!! The people who own our house are selling it and we have to move.
We applied for the brilliant house (which incidentally is on Brilliant Street) and were knocked back because the real estate agent is a fucking fuck.
Last week I noticed the same house for rent under a different real estate agent, so we applied again - AND GOT IT.
WE WILL NOW BE LIVING IN A BRILLIANT HOUSE ON BRILLIANT STREET!!

This whole moving thing is finally kind of done, we are at the airport (thanks USO for having computers and internet!) and have a couple of hours before our flight leaves.
