I'm finding my way through jewellery making, and it's a lot of fun. So far I have some shitty pumpkins, and shitty candy corn. But I'm still going to wear them 8]

Nice! I'm going to get into jewelry making soon too, I want to make a rosary for my Mom for Christmas.

That sounds awesome, once I tire of earrings I'm going to move on to necklaces. My problem is I'm making this stuff, but I don't really know what to do with it now. I'm probably going to end up popping most of these up on etsy for .50 cents each just to get them out of my house.

I love making jewelry, pretty much any type, though I'm not very skilled with wires and lots of the time I don't have the patience for seed beads. What kind of materials do you like to use?
Lately I have been all about incorporating ribbons and chains but I got some beautiful little freshwater pearls that are just too delicate to work with that so I have to figure out what to do now.

There's always the farmer's market, the fair trade fair at MUN, and various flea markets around town! Etsy is good too but shipping can be a pain in the ass XD

You can also always give them to friends and family. My mom thinks that my earlier work, that I can only look at and see imperfections, has a lot of warmth and character so she happily gobbled up lots of pieces when I mentioned not knowing what to do with them. So now she always gets handmade presents, usually from a project where I have decided to try a new technique.
You can also cannibalize old pieces to reuse the materials, I do it all of the time.

Charity shops are a goldmine for old necklaces to take apart. I also love car boot sales for that as well (garage sales would be the US equivalent I believe )
I've had some lovely things from etsy. I did see one store on there, that did a huge bunch of mixed beads by weight. Like 1/4 lb or something like that. I am still tempted by those...
I want to have a go at making my own bone beads with the Dremel . see if I can do myself some simple skulls perhaps.

Spent all day yesterday at the ren faire and managed to not get burnt even though I forgot sunscreen. I also managed to find a really pretty dress in the perfect shade of dark blue-ish purple, bordering on indigo.

So I went out this weekend and met a lovely young lady through mutual friends who was smart, funny and charming. Then she mentioned she loved "Twilight" and when I mentioned in a polite way that I preferred the Vampire Chronicles and the Sonja Blue series, she admitted she didn't know who Lestat and Louis were until I brought up the Interview film, which she said she despised and she was in the Jacob fanclub.
Talk about a buzz kill.
Damn you Meyers for defanging multiple mythical creatures at once!

Start upping your age.. tell everyone that you've just turned 35, and then sit back and listen to people be amazed at how young you look.

Jake found a desk at Goodwill today, which I'm pretty happy about as now he will have absolutely no excuse for leaving his school stuff everywhere. It is absolutely huge 4.5 feet wide and about 2 feet deep but it has a leaf that can flip up and add almost another foot to its depth and it has a nicely segmented drawer to keep all of his stuff organized. It certainly isn't the most attractive desk in the world (makes me think of something from an old public school) and it has been beaten up a bit, lots of scuffs and scratches, but it will work really well and I'm going to do what I can to get crafty and make it look alright. Hopefully when Jake is done with school he won't need a big desk and I can make it my craft table.

I HAVE INVENTED CHAOS GARDENING!
Buy two identical plant pots.
Plant tomato seeds in one.
Plant strawberry seeds in the other.
Do not add labels or identifying marks.
Mix them up, swapping the places you put them over a couple of weeks.
Then, when one pot starts to sprout something green - which could possibly even just be dandelion weeds.. add a 5 bean seed mix to the pot with nothing sprouting.
So.. I have one pot with either strawberries, tomatoes or weeds that is sprouting.
And another pot with either strawberries, tomatoes, weeds or any of 5 different types of beans, that may or may not sprout any or all of them.
WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN??!

Weirdly that happens to me a lot. I usually get guessed as being in the 18-25 age bracket. When I started my current job 3 years ago, my boss thought I was about 17 .
A VERY drunk man once asked me " when ya back at school bab? " O.o He actually thought I was about 15 or something, which just goes to show how strong beer goggles can be :0
Still, I'm not going to complain about apparantly looking at least 5 years younger than I really am

This had me in hysterics at work today..

LYRICS:
Well hello friend Mister Insightful
Thank you for your comment on my little Youtube clip!
Most people say you're cruel and spiteful,
But you're right, how do I sleep at night? I am a massive prick.
They call you hater well they're just jealous
Your constructive pearls of wisdom give me thrills I can't deny
How will we know if you don't tell us
We could improve our Youtube channels by "fucking off and dying"?
Some might say you are a...
Sexually aggressive, racist, homophobe, misogynistic,
Cowardly, illitterate, waste of human skin,
Sexually aggressive, racist, homophobe, misogynistic,
Cowardly, iliterat, waste of human skin,
But I say: thank you beautiful stranger.
I love the way you don't upload things
You know we'd be too dazzled by your cinematic vision
But you're there on every comment string
Where you teach us, just like Jesus but while wanking like a gibbon.
I'm really sure that if I met you
You probably wouldn't **** me like you promised that you would
We are like "that"; I really get you
You're right about that laughing kid, he is a total "cnut".
(Samba instrumental)
You wished me cancer and misspelled "cancer"
But I know that it's a metaphor. You hope that I will grow,
Just like the tumour you hoped would kill me
Inside the tits on which you said you'd also like a go.
You said that girls shouldn't do funny
But you'd fuck me double hard and let your mates go after you.
Oh what a line you lovely honey.
Are you on e-harmony? Oo! I'll join the queue!
Some might say you're a...
sexually aggressive, racist, homophobe, misogynistic,
cowardly, illitterate, waste of human skin,
sexually aggressive, racist, homophobe, misogynistic,
cowardly, iliterate, waste of human skin.
But if it wasn't for you my darling,
I would never have written this tune.
Some might say that You're So Vain,
But this song is all about you!

In the grand tradition of heteronormative clichés of heartbreak, I've been learning to bake. And after years of living on toast for days on end out of laziness, fucking up the simplest timing and generally sucking in the kitchen, I've decided I have raw fucking talent oozing from my banocolate muffins and should totally start a bakery. If I'd known it was this easy, I'd've conformed to the delicious gender binary years ago. People always said it wasn't hard but I just assumed they were lying, like when teachers tell you you can do anything you want if you set your mind to it.

I cook only because I want to eat (or make something particularly awesome), that's the only reason I'd put up with the dishes.
Though my culinary skills were enhanced by having to help in the kitchen and cook for my family while my brothers did the 'boy chores'. <_< What was it, the fifties?

Baking is the world's most delicious science, everyone should embrace it. I am quite a good baker but I'm also an extraordinary messy one, mostly because I am way too impatient when adding dry ingredients to a mixer which leads to a nice coating of flower over every surface in my kitchen and all over me.
