I just came back from my lession just now, and I now do riding all year round (finally my parents have some money). Tismine thanks so much for the info!! Lots of hard work as is everything... I've been thinking that I'd leave Driving alone right now (poop, I wanted to drive the Belgain Draft at the barn this summer, oh well he's still my 2 hour grooming buddy ^_^) and focus on Showjumping and XC Riding. As for Dressage I'll put it on hold for right now too but I would like to get into it. I was also thinking to go back to the Hunter Jumper barn I was at before, because its closer to my home and I do cross rails and ground poles there.
English and Western barns are very nice and not snotty, they accualy want to help you if you want to learn about care, different breeds, and color of horses :3
Hunter Jumper barns on the other hand are full of snotty bitches and dont tell you shit the barn didnt even own polo wraps or teach me about color and care (well, grooming but thats it) >

I'm just trying to figure out what I want to do in my horseback riding career. To tell you the truth I kinda don't know what I really want out of horseback riding, I just want to do somesort of showing for experience, or something to strive for and achieve since I fail at everything else I try (for real)... I just want to accomplish something I, myself want to do; to be good at it and enjoy what I'm doing at the same time... If that makes any sence (sorry if it dosen't)
Well what I'm trying to say is I'm confused about what I want to do, I guess. I want to do something for myself and not someone else... (-.-)
As for the Hunter Jumper barn, well, they just plain sucked and I didn't really learn anything there... but its the only place I went to for jumping and I want to keep that skill sharp, ya know?

Me too. It's just one long GIANT SMUSH of words. In my current cold-medicine drugged sense, it doesn't appear to be English. I think it might have something to do with either bogs, horses, or temples.
Sweetie, mind spacing you paragraphs a bit more?
And maybe installing a filter between your brain and your fingers?

You make it sound like all of the barns that you have been to only do one thing, isn't there anything that kind of does everything (well not everything as most barns are going to be English or Western but they should do a bit of everything under that style of riding)? For now it seems like you still need to be working on some of the basics before you get into anything too specific.

There are All Around barns that help get you started in the right direction, but most barns just focus on one or a few things with the riding style you do (like if you ride Western you can learn Cutting and Reining).
Most of the barns near my home are only Hunter Jumper and nothing else.

I'm sorry, in my experience that is highly unusual, and I'm right in the middle of hunt country (well a bit left of center to be honest but whatever). I wish I could be more help but after I was about 10 all of my lessons came from my neighbor who wasn't actually an instructor.

Yeah, I guess its all about where you live that effects the type of riding style. I'm also looking for other barns too, but there like 1 or 2 hours from my house, and the barns that are close only do Hunter Jumper...
But for right now I'm just going to brush up on my skills and then get into something more specific.

Ah! That's right!
All I could think was: Soli's friend = Middleburg chick = Bauhaus shirt = marshmallows.
Oh yes. XD

I'll take you to the Wave, it will be good times.
