I was wondering when this would come up. I don't play WoW myself, but my fiance has two level seventies and a couple level sixty/plus, in addition to about four others, for various purposes. Several of our friends play as well. The term "WoW widow" has genuine meaning in our circles, inspiring either knowing laughter or grumbles. One friend of ours recently moved out of state to hook up with a girl he met through WoW. I believe Ventrilo was their primary "dating" medium for about six months.

That's so sad that relationships get screwed up by a video game. =(

I will try the public test surver! I had no idea you could test-drive characters.

If someone appreciates a game (or an object as another example) better than their respective, then I'm not so sure they're worth a working relationship. Moderation is the key to everything. I'd never put a gf on second place.

Anyways,
I'm in Black wing lair: Deathal.
I'm a undead warlock.
I just started playing WoW this past month, and have found it addicting. just messing with people, teaming up with people and just trying to lvl. up the character which takes hours to do. You kinda see what the higher lvl. characters have make it a goal to have that. The online team working is fun, like that South Park episode you can just get together with friends and go crazy on the quests. The game play is easy to get into, and quest keep you busy.

My hubby begged me to get my own account so we could hang out in game (which solves the problem of the relationship woes of losing him to WoW). So last week I got my account, he helps me lvl up.

Server: Stormrage
Char: Human Warlock
Name: Darkdementia (lvl 16)

WoW is the job with no end in sight. x_x;;; I used to be addicted, but now I don't play much. It's still interesting now and then, but not for $14.95 every month. :P

Ok, I'm doomed. I re-installed this crap thanks to a resurrection-scroll from a friend which gave me 10 free days.

This time though, I think I'll play on a non-PVP server. I'm sick of being ganked by silly hordeplayers (everyone knows Alliance rules) when doing the lvl50+ quests.

I played the free trial for about 50 hours and didn't care for it. I don't know what I was expecting but I just didn't like it as much as I did EQ or even EQ2. I found it pretty cartoonish, which may have put me off most. OR maybe I was just bored with MMO's after 4 years of EQ ad 2 of EQ2....then a year of Vanguard beta, which put me over the edge with dealing with bugs. *shrug* I know there are a lot of people who love it.

I just met this really amazing guy (Im way into him and I think he is into me) but he plays alot of WoW. I mean for hours at a time. I think he has been playing for years... Seems like an intense hobby but I have no room to judge I go mad over paper...
However, I have heard lots of crap about people who play WoW for hours on end. Can anyone explain what the big deal is? I am almost so interested that I want to check it out and play a little bit myself to see what the big deal is. I am surrounded by people who play. How do you start?

You buy the game, and pay $15 per month, which is why I returned it and am thankful of the decision.
WoW is an MMORPG, which is an acronym for a bunch of words synonymous with "time devourer." You make your character, and you live in the WoW fictional world, meeting people, forming guilds, and spending hours and hours on honing your skills (if only the nerds could relate level upgrading to exercise)
Now, I'm not saying all videogames are bad, and I used to like MMORPGs, but at least with games like Guitar Hero and Star Wars and Smash Brothers, you play with people on the same room.

I use to be a monk, probably not up my alley... Do you have to buy alot of things to go with the game? I tried to download it but I got nothing
Anyways, I was monking it up...
In a gothic temple....
I wrote alot...
I am actually telling the truth here.
This explains the absense from the old familar board, it looks differant, what happened to the green scroll bars and fancy updates... Did someone buy this baby and start using it to sell us shit?

This board use to be a little less 'fancy' and had green font all around. "Goddamn my eyes!" green against the black background. Then they changed it. And yeah, there are a lot more banners now, but at the same time there's also thousands of bands in a section around.
