Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

Yeah, I really just like the name because I know someone named Whitney, and I just don't like her. Their music isn't all that great in my opinion.

Heaven Shall Burn- A Death Metal German band. They dont sing in German. They have one of the fastest drummers and guitarists I have ever heard and the perfect scream. They are pretty political, vegetarians, and sing about real life. A combination of melodic death metal and crushing metalcore. They often tour with another band similar to them called Caliban.

eh, heaven shall burn is pretty weak. especially live.
killwhitneydead really isn't all that good, but the movie quotes are fuckin sweet. they should just stop trying to rip off anal cunt, and they'd be doing okay for themselves.

The Red Elvises. The two lead guys in the band are Russian ex-patriots. Very good stuff. Their style makes me think of the older surfer/jazzy music. They are really hard to describe, but have some very good tunes!

I'm sorry you feel that way. I have a DVD of theirs and I thought it was pretty heavy. But to each his own...

If you allow your musical tastes to wonder, I highly recommend "My Morning Jacket."
They're an indie rock band with a bit of a hippie influence.

The Psychopomps rule. Check out Suitcaseabomb if you get the chance, or actually manage to find any of their music.
Oh yeah, and Wolf Eyes.

Cortex. Swedish post-punk, it's been called old school horrorpunk, they're a little gothic and a little punk, but not deathrock.
http://www.kbdrecords.com/2006/08/02...x-sleepwalker/
and Crni Dani u Vatikanu from Croatia, I can't describe their music, but they call it zombiecore. ^^

Lunascape is a beautiful, faerie-like band. I've heard them through their song in the Neil Gaiman compilation album, "Raven Star".

Soul Coughing. Not unheard of, but decently obscure. Sort of a jazzy experimental art rock band from Brooklyn back in the early 90s before the whole "indie" explosion. Some of the strangest stream of consciousness lyrics you've ever heard. They were that band I was really chuffed with myself for knowing back in middle school. I think I'll go listen to some now...
