I suppose it was more just a poor stylistic choice.

Either way, it was a shitty sentence.

It was, if I'm to give what you say any credence, either a "poor stylistic choice" or "used incorrectly". If you're going to argue the matter you'll have to pick one. It can't be both simultaneously. If something's wrong it's just plain wrong, and the style doesn't much matter. By that same token, if it's a poor stylistic choice then it's technically correct, but just not up to whatever standard of style you're using.

Personally I think that you're just mad because I said something about the semicolons before you did.

Helpmann, my main problem with your argument is this: if one really does believe that "might makes right", then one must also, de facto, believe that any misfortune is deserved simply by dint of the fact that it happened and that the victim of said misfortune was unable to prevent it from happening.

Do people killed by surprise in bombing raids deserve to die because they didn't see bombs coming, or, if they did see them coming, couldn't stop them? Do people killed when a victorious army goes buck-wild deserve to die because their army lost a battle? Did all of the countless people killed in the genocides of the past deserve to be slaughtered simply because they weren't strong enough to defeat whatever power was menacing them? Further, does that mean that someone afflicted with a deadly disease deserves to die because their immune system isn't strong enough to defeat the virus?

I really don't think so.

It can definitely be both simultaneously, and no, I'm not mad over someone online having seen something before I did.

Ahhh bullies. Yes. This twitchy fat nervous frigid thing you know as Honeythorn is partly created by bullypower.

Bullied day in day out by the same group of boys from the age of 6 right through to when I left high school. The first reason I was bullied? ( in primary school from ages 6-11 ) Apart from being fat, I liked to go horseriding. Yep, work that fucker out, I'm still trying. Thus ensued horse impressions and so on. All day, every day, in front of the teachers ( my teachers were useless cunts who did fuck all ) , in the playground, everywhere.

My soloution? Eat food, be alone.

Then in highschool ? I was still fat. Had HORRIFIC acne. This clearly makes me unnaceptable as a human being, I should obviously not exist as they do not find me attractive to look at. I had metal objects ( including compasses ) thrown at me inbetween insults . They liked to add projectiles to spice things up I assume. This is the same group of lads as primary school, plus a few add ons.

My soloution? Eat food, be partly alone, hang out with my few friends occasionally ( no one wants to hang out with someone who is bullied lest they become targets themselves. Perfectly understandable , I don't blame them)

And then AGAIN in college by a guy who was all of my previous bullies melded into one horrific person. His reason? Same as the ones in highschool. Despite NEVER having had any sort of conversation of any sort with me for about...5 months? One day he just started on me for absolutely no reason I could fathom, and didn't stop until the course ended.

My soloution? Eat food, shut down .

Would you like to know something? Telling someone about it, DOES NOT WORK.

It makes it worse. The bullies get a slap on the wrist and a telling off and they're back at their old ways soon enough.

Ignoring them? DOES NOT WORK.

The simply work harder to find your weakness, to find a button to push to get a reaction. Sooner or later they WILL find one.

Laughing at them? DOES NOT WORK.

They simply hate you more because they can't figure out why you're laughing. Then they step up the abuse to stop you laughing.

I am now a 17 stone beast of a woman, made partly from past comfort eating, insults, and self loathing. I'm frigid as all hell and VERY mistrustful of men. It's taken 20 years of shit to make me and it'll take just as long to sort me out.

I have a funny feeling I am going to get VERY bored.

It's all coincidence... some people are born naturally great, others are born to eek out a mediocre existence.

By the by, how do I get myself a CBE? Do I have to take over Malta for the Queen, or something?

You were just not born capable of that type of acomplishment.

Coincidence.

A bit obvious, isn't it?

And not only British... but born of the establishment.

Occasionally there will be revolutions, but unless an individual is capable of carrying them out then frankly they were not worthy of it's victory.

I actually think that he was making a point. He said that I wasn't born with the capacity to be awarded the CBE, and he was right. I'm not British, nor am I a gentleman.

Sometimes those little gibes can actually have double meanings, JCC. You fool.

Every so-called "bully" who picked on you had a right to do so, because you were so pathetic that you couldn't forge a character that no one was capable of bullying.

Yes, people will throw cheap remarks... but to individuals of worth they are like mere pebbles thrown at the walls of a mighty fortress.

If you still have hang ups over bullying, or are the victim of bullying then frankly you're pathetic.

And pathetic people are ripe for a good probing from the bullying stick.

[Insert long drawn out explanation of horrific things happening to a character.]
But he was happy.

That would be incorrect, but definitely stylish, and therefore, for the most part, excusable.

You're not really a writer, are you?
