Same difference, Duane. Beating people over the head with a bible is forcefeeding religion, and beating people over the head with a burning bible is forcefeeding lack of religion. It just amounts to both both sides of the 'intolerance' coin.

That was just one of my horribly bad jokes. Me, I'd never burn a bible.... unless I was stranded on a island, and all I had to use for tinder was a bible, then I would.

Duane,
I know you wouldn't, sweetie, but there are people who would do both or either, and they're both pointless endeavors. People are people. You can't change them. You just have to be verry patient, which is not always easy.

Be patient, but I want them to stop. If they don't stop this second, I'm going Punisher on their dim heads!

Second, no I don't always post as if I'm in a bad mood, you just choose to overlook when I'm nice or ambivalent. I can point out like a million instances when I've been perfectly nice and friendly. I won't, because you're a big girl and if you choose to keep thinking the way you do despite it being proveably incorrect, that's up to you.
As for the age thing, I've never said age should be overlooked.
I've said it shouldn't be a deciding factor.
|
Oh! You -did- reply! My bad. XD
Well, I'm sure there -are- times you've been perfectly nice, but in general, when I see a post of yours, it just isn't...happy.
As for the age thing, you're right...which is why it confused me as to why supposedly 'gossiping' with teens should be any better or worse than 'gossiping' with anyone else. O.o Really, you're quite confusing.
[In all seriousness, though.....why so serious?]

I can understand if you don't have the experience necessary to realize this, but being among the most intelligent people in a given population is often less than pleasant. Sure, the idiots can, through their antics, provide me with fleeting amusement, and my superiority over them has afforded me a degree of success in the generally meritocratic economic system of the contemporary United States, but I'm almost certain I would prefer to live in a world inhabited primarily by my intellectual equals. It'd be a fucking Utopia.

Well, you could always join a think tank or become a professor at a pretigious university or something.
For some reason, this conversation is reminding me of Big Bang Theory..

Tam li,
Sorry to disillusion you, but I worked for a professor at a prestigious university many moons ago. You know what they talk about when they think-tank -- what any other locker-room geek talks about. I found them pretty disappointing, but I learned something. People are people, no matter where they come from --- and yes professors may have intellects that are in the stratosphere and still have minds that are in the gutter.

Actually, that doesn't surprise me much; one constant in the world is that humans are very different, yet very much the same no matter where you go or what you do.
