Materials

Would anyone know of a good place to get thick wool at a good price?
Im trying to recreate a cloak and i cant seem to find of the type of cloth i need.

What sort of wool cloth do you need? Gabardine? Felt?

Look on Ebay, I got some net and brocade on there for a very decent price.

I don't like to order my fabric online. I'm sure people have great success with that, but I just need to feel the texture and weight - to commune, as it were, with the ancient fabric gods.

Okay, maybe I don't go quite that far, but in person is the only way I'm comfortable. I usually go to JoAnne or Hancock Fabrics, but unless I'm lucky and there's a sale on, they can be, well, not quite expensive, but really not very cheap either.

You can go to an actual shop, find a fabric you like, look at the manufacturer's label on the roll and google it.

If you lived in Cardiff I would send you Terry's or Butterfly on City Road.
