'sup?

1. What do you do? (Hobbies, job) Im an artist, of all sorts. Ive had numerous jobs from construction, being a coyote, motorcycle mechanic, logger, janitor. Currently im whoring my artistic talent by painting cutesy pie, sacharine sweet, murals for various busines's (whatever it takes to pay the bills). Hobbywise..Passive agressive urban annoyance, creating post apocalyptic cars and trucks. Building the ocassional chopper for fun and sale, raving(real raves), burningman, leather bars, toking with cartoons on,whatnot

2. Where are you from? The west coast. Currently in the pacific north west again. Cold and pissy rainy weather, but a great underground of people.

3. Who is your favorite author? Hunter S. Thompson

4. What are your favorite films? Dead Man, Six String Samurai, Donnie Darko, Pulp Fiction, Reservoir dogs, a Scanner Darkly.

5. What music do you want played at your wedding? If they make it so i can get married, maybe some old school Alice in Chains.

6. At your funeral? if im dead i doubt ill care whats played then. Just something chilled and hard would be slick.

7. This IS a gothic website, so... how do you want to die? The Butch and Sundance way, outgunned and glorious.

8. What kind of casket would you want? heh, itd rock if i could get a taditional styled casket flame cut out of steel and buzz boxed welded together. Black with the weld rust.

9. What's your FAVORITE outfit? A black Army of Darkness T with the sleeves sliced off and the wording nearly all gone, a leather jacket with the sleeves and liner gone, a red/brown wide WW2 russian officers belt, my pocketwatch danging from the watch pocket of some dark blue levi 501's, black biker boots with spikes on the straps. Add some prescription sunglasses for any bright day(my eyes are too pale blue for going without), eight earrings, shoulder length brown/black hair and a biker goatee.

10. What's one thing you miss about being a little kid? being alone

11. What's your favorite band? Its between Cream and Leonard Cohen. But theres too many others. I like rockabilly, psychobilly, anything hard, thought provoking or psychedellic.

12. What kind of education do you have? What is/was/will be your major? I dropped out of high school like a week into the tenth grade in like '98 i think.

13. Why did you join? Im continually being asked if im a goth. I say no because i dont truly fit into the stereotype of goths ive met up here. Stumbled upon this site and figured id join, perhaps learn something.

14. If the first 13 questions didn't give it away. What is your gender? Male

Ive been repeatedly asked over the last few years if im a goth. Im unsure how to respond to that since the only goths im aquainted with have been what im certain is just fashionable goth(all black leather or vinyl, bondage pants with too many buckles, boots and the makeup).

Figured id mainly look around, use your search and puzzle things out.

Hey, welcome. The fashionistas usually don't know what goth is about, which would make them non- goths. Anyway, seeing forward to seeing you in the boards! =)

Well to those who welcomed me, thanks.

Ive been looking around here, searching the forums and am having a bad deja-vu feeling. Its akin to highschool, just a loose group formed under an easily identified look. Conformity through a certain style of non-conformity.

Its not really all that different from me and my few comrades. Just lose the makeup and replace the dress with more leather and vintage millitary pieces.

Um, despite the fact that it seems you might be calling the forum slightly childish, welcome, if you wish to stick around.

Childish? Not really, i see adults do the same thing everyday. Joining packs and adopting (or maintaining) certain styles to fit in, feel better about themselves and their role in this world.

As I said in my first post, im merely curious about goth. Im often asked if im goth, im uncertain how to answer that and will not just randomly label anyone, let alone myself as anything. I was just letting out a bit of first impression insight loose. No offense intended.

This is how I, too, became interested in goth. I don't limit myself to anything. I started off w/ the love for all things 80s ,then the punk tributes, and I think my style has matured and evolved musically and fashion-wise, but now I do a little bit of it all. Some days, I just look like a bum. But alternative has many definitions. I don't think you have to like, 'Ohmigosh I'm so goth and all I care about is goth' to be here. Enjoy your stay, how ever long it lasts. :-)

I've always found it a little hypocritical when people say things like:
" I associate with Goth, don't label me "
Hypocrites! That's okay though...sort of
