Interesting Classes
So I'm going to college next year, and I need some filler classes.
Anyone gone/been/hopes to go to college, with odd/fun classes in mind? They're paid for, so I'm going to have a blast with it.

Yeah. They have so many philosophy courses though. Eastern philosophy, western philosophy, political philosophy... Eastern looks cool though.
Human sexuality looks fun, but that'd be interesting, being only sixteen...
Music is far out of my reach. (I've never played an instrument in my life).

You got to take a foreign language and don’t just take Spanish or French. The more uncommon the language is the funner it is to learn. I just learned that there was an Arabic class at my school this summer which I would have loved to take but I was too late to register .
Also any art class is great too. This fall at my college they are offering Raku ceramics, Jewelry making, metal smiting, etc. I’m defiantly going to try one out although I haven’t decided on which one yet .

As for the specific class, I would say go to ethics, or something related to your main education. For example, I convinced a friend of studying some philosophy in two years because they have a class of bioethics (she wants to be a nurse).

You could learn a new language. Or take a philosophy and ethics class.

Ive been doing drama exclusively for a year, and recommend it. Wonderful thing to while away your time, no sitting at a desk listening to some dry old twiggy teacher talking - you'll be doing something. Your physical condition is going to improve a lot, too.

BE CAREFUL -- my filler courses usually ended up being my hardest classes that semester. If you can talk to a senior or junior there, they usually have the best line on which teachers are easy and which courses are truly filler. Modern Philosophy almost kicked my ass.
Art and drama are good, music history also if you have a good memory. I took some religion courses that were awesome (look for the ones with funky titles like Orthodoxy or Heresy? -- that ended up being one of my favorite classes). Some of the physical ed electives can be quite interesting also. My college offered fencing and several kinds of dance.

Art History was my major, so I have to pimp it
But my best "filler" classes were the ones that had nothing to do with my major and were a welcome break and distraction... like gymnastics, Eastern Philosophy and World religion (which was an "accidental minor"), anatomy and physiology, and mechanical drawing/blueprints.
I'd recommend trying something that intimidates the holy hell out of you and see what happens XD
Seriously, it can be fun as hell and prove to you what you can do.

You know there are tons of online courses you can take on that subject.
But definatly all the good ones are taken, though I definatly want to learn Latin, you can't go wrong with Latin.

I was thinking Finnish. Because that's a cool language.
I mean, I can say I speak Finnish.
If I spoke Russian, imagine the bad bathroom jokes...
