Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

Really? You think a tongue-in-cheek reference to a line out of Aqua Teen Hunger Force is a bit too much? I'll have to find tie-ins with safer cartoons. Maybe the Flintstones next time?

I missed the Aqua Teen part. To me it was just racism.
And don't act like a smart-ass.

Actually, I am. Though how you drew that conclusion from one post, I will never know.

It was actually a collection of posts that helped me draw that conclusion. Posts you apparently didn't read in order to establish the context of the remarks you quoted me on. How you continue to post and still apparently plead ignorance to the fact that you repeated Ophelia, yet missed the ensuing two posts boggles the mind... even for someone with ADHD.
It's not like the context was explained threads away or more than five or six posts away. It was literally one post away.
Since that mere post continues to escape you, I'll go ahead and re-quote it as:

So trying to say that one has more artistic merit than the other is something like trying to say that German symphony has more artistic merit than Nigerian drum and rythm music. My point is that they came from completly different places and cultures and you can't really compare or demean one with respect to the other because they simply aren't the same.

Please, shut up.
Trace rap back and it goes to jazz
Trace rock back and it goes to jazz
don't be stupid please

To me, I think most people don't like rap music is because not of the beats or how they created it but rappers themselves...They are thinking of stereotype of bling blings, women, money and so on that they should not deserve the fame they are already getting...Thats why I normally don't like rap....but on a very rare occasions, when I have a couple of friends creating their own beats...I must admit, I do enjoy it only because I know who made it and I appreciate that person for that it does not contain lyrics based on top 3 things that most rappers are into (bling blings, women, and money)....

Just for fun, I checked the charts and picked a rap song... Then checked the lyrics. Lyrics are normally the reason why I hate rap songs.
She work it girl, she work the pole
She break it down, she take it low
She fine as hell, she about the dough
She doing her thing out on the floor
Her money money, she makin' makin'
Look at the way she shakin' shakin'
Make you want to touch it, make you want to taste it
Have you lustin' for her, go crazy face it
Now don't stop, get it, get it
The way she shakin' make you want to hit it
Think she double jointed from the way she splitted
Got you're head fucked up from the way she did it
She's so much more than you're used to
She know's just how to move to seduce you
She gone do the right thing and touch the right spot
Dance in you're lap till you're ready to pop
This was a totally random song from the charts... No wonder I don't like it.
