Unhappy I can't stop puking

I had my tonsils removed and I'm in pain. My ears and throat hurt, I puke everything even if it's water.
I need to take my birth control soon but I'm afraid I'll puke it out. Feck

Is it possible to miss a day ( and avoid sex for a day or two ) and take two the next day if you feel better then?

I've no doubt someone else will be able to help you out better than me . I've never had to take the pill I'm afraid.

I take it for cramps and stuff
I just don't want to mess with the hormones, like I want to keep the levels the same day after day

Oh right. How much water are you drinking? Trying to drink a glass in a few gulps will indeed make you puke in your state. Try tiny little sips and keep resting.

i think your best bet with the pills is just too take them and hope you dont puke up after you take them,if you do then at least you havn't lost anything and if they stay down problom(partialy) solved.

either way youve got my sympathy, puking is blurrgingly horrible (but you dont me to tell you that obviously)
i hope you get better soon

I'm puking because of the phlem going into my stomach, I started the pills a few weeks ago and had no issues until my tonsils were removed.

Graveyard Crow. This is the only thing I know to tell you. Try the teaspoonsful of water. If that does not work, can you get ahold of some ice chips? In the hospital where I work, if a patient cannot keep water down they usually administer IV's and something to stop the vomiting. In the meantime, until the meds take effect, they administer ice chips, one at a time, to 'fool' the patient's gag reflex. Try taking some ice chips and hold them on your tongue. You will get the same effect as a teaspoon of water, but it will go down slower so you will stay hydrated without activating your gag reflex. *hugs*, good luck and I hope you feel better.

If you just started your birth control, it can cause nausea. I got it, but it goes away after about a day. You're fine.

It's not the pill. I said this so many times already. It's my tonsils, I'm puking because of all the nasty stuff I'm swallowing, also the painkillers.

Are you taking Vicodin (hydrocodone) as your pain killer?

Puking.

ek!

Ice chips if you can't hold down water.

Can't help you with the other thing though... maybe you might need to consider getting it injected? Some women do this rather than take the pill.

If you puke everything, then the pill is included. If you puke for less than 3 days, your hormones will be a tad wonky but OK to resume the current pill pack. If it is over 3 days, toss the pill pack and wait until the puking stops and then re-start with a new pack (if you are on a regular 28 day pack. If it is one of the newer hormone levels that decrease or eliminat eyour period, just give your doctor a call)

Try halving your dose, or stopping it completely for a day or so, see if it does anything. Codeine usually isn't too harsh, but opiates can do weird things to different people. If stopping the codeine helps, I suggest taking ibuprofen for the pain, my dentist gave my the same thing for my wisdom teeth. I took ibuprofen instead and threw the codeine out.

I'd put money on it that it'll at least help your stomach.

It's a prescription and I take it for pain, if I decrease the dose I suffer pain, so I can't do that.

Is it for chronic pain or were you prescribed it when you had your tonsils removed?

You know, they make a pill for nausea, gets rid of it in ten minutes. They had to give it to me when my anxiety was making my stomach upset. It's prescribed when you become dehydrated from throwing everything up. Normally goes to cancer patients and pregnant women.

Can't remember what it was called though. It's like, fenigram or something like that. Phenigram?

EDIT: Phenegran.

Apparently grinning suppresses the gag reflex, just smile lots.
