So why can't she have aspirin? Blood thinning? I don't think I was sober with my last tattoo and I didn't eat until afterwards.
It was entirely too short, though. Only 45 minutes! I was enjoying it. But I've got to go get it worked on again.....
Manimal, welcome back *humps your leg*

We had snow here yesterday..
One second the skies were blue as I was picking up the Hellspawn, the next second it was snowing like crazy.
Being from the South, my Hellspawn and I were super excited.
He was scooping snow/dirt up and eating it right off the ground.
It was very cute..
I was pretty excited myself, I caught a few flakes on my tongue.

I want to see big piles of real snow... but I don't want to live with it long-term. It makes travel difficult.
I read that it costs New York $1,000,000 per inch to deal with the snow. :O

I'm not really back from vacation ... I'll be back in Houston and back online on G-Net on Monday.
But I just had to pop in here as I got back to my Dad's house for a few days ... and say the following:
You know what I love most about having a vacation in the Canary Islands?
.
.
Think about it ...
.
.
Can you guess?
.
.
.
knowing what a horn-dog I am should help ...
.
.
two words ...
.
.
TOPLESS SUNBATHING!!!!
Yeah, baby!!!! :-D

I suppose that depends on how you use it..
I may be way offbase on the differences, that's just my take on it.

Hey guys, Korova here just lettin' you know I'm still alive... *mumbles* Barely...
Just thought I'd tell ya the only reason I haven't been around is because of school, but it seems it will stay this way for a while. Don't worry, though, I haven't abandoned you lovely people.
In the famous words of Arnold... "I'll be back"
I'll make a quick picture post with a bit of mechanical eye candy before I go though...
Love you guys, and I'm thinkin' of ya!

KOROVA!!!! You are missed very much! I expect you'll visit much over spring break though?!
Record cold tomorrow (watch out XNG it's headed your way) -23 to -28 with the wind chill... I'm not looking forward to trying to start my car in the morning. It's -3 now, not too bad but it'll only get worse as the night continues.

We had a wicked crazy week for weather. Saturday we got 10" of snow. Yesterday it was 60 degrees. Tomorrow the high is predicted to be 33.
Right now, it's like a wind tunnel. Gusts of up to 50 mph. I'm afraid to walk my dog for fear she'll blow away.

Today is my Mom's birthday. And I would give most anything to be able to pick up the phone and wish her many happy returns of the day.
The Reverend Doctor Momzilla was the most amazingly beautiful, intelligent, witty, and kind woman I've ever known. She regularly put in 40-, 50-, and 60-hour weeks on behalf of any number of charitable organizations, and never received a paycheck for her efforts. When she became ill with kidney disease, she spearheaded a patient advocacy board.
One of my brother's friends once told me, "Your mom has the power- but she uses it wisely." So true; I was fortunate enough to grow up in a time and place where laissez-faire, unsupervised parenting was the norm. So, we were allowed to make mistakes (and those mistakes occasionally involved gasoline, firecrackers, really excellent homemade blowtorches, and later, shoplifting, reckless driving, booze and weed) and learn from them.
Once a stone-faced Momzilla forces your sorry hungover ass to clean the bathroom of vomit, you WILL think twice about having those "two beers, I swear." Or, in the case of other siblings, who shall remain nameless, appearing before a juvenile court judge.
We are all now fairly productive members of society, with clean records.
We estimate that she confiscated at least a quarter pound of pot from various judgement-impaired children over the years. Eventually, we got her to try the devil weed herself when she was sick (she always kept an open mind), but it just didn't work for her.
However, if you dared to mess with one of her kids, she turned into a tigress. I remember her giving an absolute raft of shit to this mean girl in my hometown, who left me alone foreverafter. She did the same thing with school administrators, coaches, inappropriate boyfriends, and (thank God) emergency room physicians. With an utterly polite, refined, no-nonsense attitude. They always crumbled in the face of her fortitude.
The Power.
And as the years pass, I realize that she was right about damn near everything- especially her advice to take a computer course instead of 'Religions of the Oppressed', and the ever-popular "Don't sleep with him!".
God, I miss her.
Eh, maybe this belongs in Whining.

happy birthday to your mom, gnossos.
------------------------------------
and on a different note, someone jumped in front of the train i was riding home tonight. i felt the initial bump, followed by the vibrations of his / her body bumbling along beneath the wheels. i didn't see who it was that jumped - only felt the sensation and put the pieces together rather quickly after the fact. when they evacuated us, the rescue workers had trained their flashlights beneath the rail car i was seated in. i doubt there was much of him / her to rescue.
ironic in a sense, i guess that i spent the day in the emergency room taking care of several people who'd come in saying they were suicidal, only to have someone jump in front of the train i was in on the way home. i don't see it as anything special or significant, necessarily since the train was full of people heading home from a night of friday night drinking. someone apparently just decided to call it quits.
anyway, i'm having a beer and getting ready for bed. tomorrow, i'll hit the gym and then the family and i are heading to new jersey for a week end away. i can't wait to sit in the hot tub beneath a 0 degree, star-filled, night sky.
i wish everyone a good weekend, especially those who matter to me here - matter to me in the way someone can come to matter to someone else within the context of this odd, virtual world. you know who you are.
and darkangel - congrats on the tat.
