The working goth.

Hello everyone.
So, the time has come where I am glimpsing the working life.
High school is over, my education is shaping and I may have to intern in 6 months or so.
So now I am planning what the heck I should do with my looks so they won't turn me down after just looking at me.
I'll take out my piercings for the day, I'll leave the Trenchcoat at home and wear blank black clothes.
But my real issue is, what the feck should I do with my hair?
I love it dearly and would hate to have to cut it off.
Any suggestions?
It looks like this, just a little bit longer:

Also, the hair on the sides of my head has grown to around an inch.
(it's short on both sides, the long part is just covering one)

let it grow then put it in a pony tail. pony tails are "acceptable" maybe dye it black or dark brown so it looks more natural

You could slick it back and tie into a ponytail but that's about it if you don't want to cut it. By intern I presume this is some sort of office work? To be honest I would have doubts any office would employ you with that hairstyle unless they are very relaxed in their drescode and you'll have no contact with the public.

If you do try to apply for a job where you will have visual contact with customers then frankly you should shave it off. They are not likely to employ you looking like that.

To be completely honest I really don't think that hairstyle, worn down and hanging over one side of your face like that is doing you any favours. It really does not suit you.

Unless you get an IT job you'll probably have to end up cutting your hair. Look up or ask what the policies are at the places you are wanting to get hired at.

Wait do you want to cut your hair or are you required to cut your hair? Because you could keep it like that its nothing bad really. The only thing an internship needs you to do is cover tattoos and take off piercings, also have an appropriate attire.

Tie that bitch back. Also, mohawks are for spiking dude, otherwise they just look kind of silly.

Question. Is that red gel in there?

My solution: Do tie it back, but in a way that'll look nice. I have a clump of hair in the front, and i tie it back around the top of my hair. ( its been a while, so i cut off most of my hair. Except the front, everything else is short)

also, with some job hunting myself, i think people are scared of two things. My size, and the colour black in shirts.
Im trying for a white shirt next time, but if all you have is black, than tuck the shirt in.

You'll do fine with a pleasant 'tude.

You could do some sort of top-knot tie. That could be cool.

Sinjob - Whoever spoke of a crisis?
I just want some advice on what I could do when I need to get a job.
Noirmoth - No, it's not red gel. I actually wanted to dye my hair red, but knowing little on dying hair I just applied red dye. The part that had grown out my natural color and a bit down the black hair turned red, the rest stayed black, so that look was an accident really.
I ended up liking it somehow though.
Breathless Horror - It's not a mohawk, it's called undercut. (Or is that sidecut? Fuck that.)
I had a specific look in mind for it, but when my hair got long enough for that look, it just looked silly and made me look like a girl.

Also, another problem is, I don't want to shave all my hair closely down, but I have to keep at least parts of the scalp bare because of my psoriasis. Otherwise I end up showering everyone in scales, and that's just icky.

In general I don't see the point in asking advice on how to tone down there currently UBER GOTHIC look for sake of money. That already says you're not only subjected but also a hilariously tragic joke.
It's not a big deal. It's not like Peter Murphy or Andi Sexgangs gonna walk into your office and be think,
"Poor Anarsha..What happened man? You were the blackest in the bunch. REMEMBER BATCAVE???!!"

This thread is a joke.

None that works unless it gets enough air.

Sinjob - It so happens that in Denmark, you probably can't get a job if you stick out too much.
Ergo, I need to do something about the hair as I really do not want to shave it off.
If that's childish so be it.
And where the fuck did you get from that I wanted to look "gawticx" in an office? That's the entire point, I don't

I know I've been coming across as a total elitist in a lot of this, so do whatever you feel is right without the fear that they'll turn you down just by what you wear. What you should really be concerned about is the confidence you have to get the job, that's how you'll win them over. You don't seem like you'd have the ability to do that.
Granted I haven't been saying it in the best way because I've been judging from the kind of person you're displaying, which is a little pathetic.

Yeah but in saying that I really meant it, though. Cuz I laugh at him like I laugh at Vyvian now.

In short: both extremes are bad.

Cut the length into a much shorter mohawk type of hairstyle . If you don't want to shave it then that's about all you can do. I'm not so certain just tying it back is going to work. Seriously you can't have that curtain hanging over your face. No office I'm aware of would really allow that.

Shave/cut it off to the same length as the rest or cut it to a short hawk are really your main options.

Probably so. I guess I'll take that headache next term when I have to go intern.

Sinjob: I am convinced you completely misunderstood my intentions.
I just wanted some advice on how I could turn this into a haircut offices allow o.o
