Smile Swap Fashion tips DIY etc.

I'm just looking round for people who want to swap tips and stuff on what they wear. Ya know if you see some other goth at your school and you love what they wear, but you dont want to copy them? Or you just want to be different but you dont know how. Well, we could swap tips and then at school, we would look totally different. DIY tips are really good, and make you look totally individual. So, what dya think?

I have many ideas that I can share on what I wear so get replying

Anything vintage and of a drak color, liek black or crimson. I like to keep it simple....well, as simple as I can get it.

Yeah, I buy the plain stuff and paint stencils all over it and add ribbons and chains. You just use your imagination really and you don't have to stick to black, I don't, if you wear something bright pink with some of your other darker clothes you can look like some sort of evil doll.

I raid a costume, then a toy shop, then some fashion stall.

Cut them all up

Stick them all together.

And walk out on the street.

That's all I do with my clothes.

Is that what they're called? I bought a pair off ebay, but they don't have the heels.

Replaced the laces with purple grosgrain ribbon, and they look prettty good.

Awesome boots! As for DIY, I'm a big fan. One tip, it is amazing what can be done with the nail polish you already have. the standard black obviously, but blue, blood red, green, yellow, purple etc can give some cool effects. You can sreak them down a pair of jeans, or do little spikey designs on the cuffs and on the waist. Metallics are great. Another thing, with specially placed tears, if you stitch around them with the same color thread a couple times, they are less likely to get bigger at embarrassing times!

P.S., if you are into flames you can use the red, orange and yellow and smear them into each other for some cool effects, you just have to be quick before it dries.

DIY is so much fun. So many different things that can be made. The most recent thing i made was this trench coat type thing. When i went to the thrift store i found a long black poncho type thing with a hood. I saw potential in it so of course i bot it. When i got home i layed a shirt over it. Drew out the sleeves and cut along the line. Sowed it up and down the sides where it was open. Then i added a zipper onto it. Voila! A new coat.

Would a white tee shirt with graphics from the manga series DEATHNOTE be considered goth?

That's the one! I just started reading the series and I'm enjoying it And I like the shirt.

Another question: Which is more fashionable for goths, tucking your shirt in or leaving it out? Or is it just a matter of personal taste?

eh, I can't really think of anyone that tucks it in, but I'm sure there are some. It's really personal perefrence, but do what you like.

Yeah if you tuck it in then you're not goth...

Seriously just do what you like, if you like a shirt then wear the damn thing, tucked or untucked based on you own preference

If you're concerned about neatness, I say tuck. If you don't need to then don't worry so much.

Frankly, I think goth looks better untucked. I was just asking. Thanks for the input, everybody.

Well, corpgoth tends to look better tucked in, really.

Unrelatedly, people used to have terrible grammar here a few years back.

I just had this inspiration a moment ago today:

I had some black jeans that had a lot of holes in them, so I cut off the legs to make hotpants.

I took the legs and ran them through a bleach wash. Cool thing is, it came out blotchy charcoal and cream and still looked a bit shredded.

So I cut these legs into sheets of fabric, got some stitch witchery, fabric glue, and patched the fabric over top a part of a jacket I have. So now, half of the front of the jacket looks like it has a layer of shredded, bleached up denim over it. Underneath, my black jacket shows.

Should be fun for when Autumn comes around again.
