Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL.

Song Translation Please?

"Der Tod Ist Ein Meister Aus Deutchland" by Some More Crime has been driving me crazy off and on for 15 years. It's made up of newscast samples in German and English. I think it's put together well, but I really want to know what the German is saying. I'm assuming it's German but thinking about it some more perhaps it is actually a Germanic based language but not actually German. A couple people I know have had trouble translating.

If any of you could help that would be super! Thanks bunches

Here's a link to the sound file for the song.

It is German, but it's not news samples. It's bits of Todesfuge read by its author (Paul Celan).

0:22 Death is a master from Germany

2:00 Death is a master from Germany whose eyes are blue

3:12 ...He something something play death something something death is a master from Germany

The internet says that last one is:

"He shouts play death more sweetly this Death is a master from Deutschland".

Interesting. Thanks a bunch. I hope posting the song helped. Seemed like this was a rare recording or something, with so few search results that showed up.
