AFI are whores. They spray-paint on that oh-so-true dramatic stereotypical cookie-cutter goth look that sells their dull, brainless tripe to delusional suburbanite middle-class teens that try to fit into this punk, goth, or emo clique that they believe will make them friends. The reality is, this media stereotype by which they live requires them to never be conversational or tolerant of anyone that doesn't dress like them and listen to the same music they do.

Learn to spell four letter words before you come in talking about how COOL...the AFI banner is. Like draconysius so gracefully put it, AFI are whores.
Shoo.

I would like to give you the same sentiments as Jillian did... except...
go away...
and die in a hole, buried up to your neck in Weathergirls and AFI records...
And while you're at it... post a new thread where the title is more true to your post like "An introduction crafted from pure bullshite".

Nicely put. I'm in high school myself and while I do understand the world a lot better than my peers, I do still know that I haven't been in the world nearly long enough to undestand everything. A lot of teens, especially at my school, are stuck inside these little protective bubbles, because they live in the town that has somehow been rated #6 (I think) on a list of the best places to live in the world (climate-wise), and therefore they're freaking rich because you almost have to be in order to survive here. They've got their million-dollar homes, but wish their room was bigger. They have the parents who buy them a brand new Hummer, or a Lexus, or whatever the hell kinda car they want the moment they get their liscence, but they're not happy with that either because "the world sucks". To them, the real world is just like The O.C. is on TV, full of fun, and dramatic dilemas, but never any real work or problems that don't eventually just go away. Yet every day I hear them in the halls complainging about their lives and how "the world is such a shitty place to live, I wish I was somewhere else".
Now I'm totally ranting so I'm going to shut up here. But the point is, [br]grow up, kid[/b]. The world aint all rainbows and sunshine, but you've just gotta deal with that.

I'm in middle school and told by most adults that I am more mature than most highschoolers, so, thumbs up for me.

*high five to cradle* I've always been told I'm mature for my age too. it sucks occasionally when people forget how old I am and treat me as old as I tend to come off as (I'm 14, I come off as about 17 going by looks, and I don't always act 14 so people just assume I'm older) and that is annoying sometimes, even my parents occasionally forget how old I am. When I was 8, they treated me like I was 13, it was crazy. It sure doesn't help that I'm tall for my age... haha.

I must be mature for my age. Jillian thought I was 18 until I told him I'm actually 16.
I deserve points for fooling the 'goth god'

I also have a problem with being accepted for being as old as I am. Becuase of my familiy situation, I have always had to be independant and, having (thank god) no protective "skirt" to hind under, I learned to look at life without any curtain before my eyes and to solve my own problems.
People tend to think I am over 20 and I end up using this too . I am almost like these ladies that celebrate their 20th birthday for the 30th time but only in the other direction. Hardly anyone really knows how old I am anymore (....and I'm not telling YOU either! ). I want to be treated for how old I feel and not for what's writen in the documents.
That is why I hate my school, where I am still a kid.
And my mother is the bigest problem, because she tends to leave lots of responsibility and problems to me but when it comes to discussing things like adults, I am the little dependant kid again.
It's like schizophrenia. I miss being a REAL kid.

I'm 46
No, I do not "geritol"
The "goth" crowd I ran with in High School (class 1978) had a few folks like this kid. I think they still work at McDonalds to this day.
"Old McDonald had a farm, emo-emo-oooooo!"
(sorry, it's time to head home from work and I am sarcastic and a tad punchy)

^^ nothing wrong with a bit of sarcasm.
Back on topic:
This guy in no way represents NZ goths.
I dislike people who have a negative attitude to everything. What's wrong with seeing the bright side in the dark?
