NME Goth Book
Is anyone familiar with NME's Originals series? They gather old articles and reviews upon certain topics into a single issue. I only recently discovered that they published a goth edition in 2006 and I found a .pdf of it online.
It covers Joy Division, The Cure, Siouxie, Bauhaus, and more--all the classics. Because these are reprints of old articles you see how these bands were seen at the time instead of reading modern articles that look backwards with full knowledge of what they will become. Reading the articles in order really lets you watch the early goth scene unfold. Very cool reading.

Aaaah, I've still got that old thing sitting on my bookcase from many years ago, experienced many a flip-through it has =]. It's got a great collection of pictures on the chapter title pages, along with all the articles. Very interesting stuff.
Glad to see it available online, my copy is damaged and in constant danger of disappearing. If it ever did vanish there is a back-up, yay.

I still have my copy that I found in WH Smiths many moons ago, and its definatly worth tracking down to have on your bookshelf, I love reading it again and again whenever I come across it !!!.

I had a download link in the original post so you could get it in PDF but it got deleted for copyright reasons, rendering this entire thread pretty much pointless.
Although, I have to confess, I'm surprised at how many people already own the printed copy.

To be honest, I'm on both sides of the fence for this.
On one hand, I'm digging the possibility of checking out all the old batcavers and
seeing more great material from the bands that started it all.
On the other hand, NME is well known for sticking bands with a new tag and ditching them the minute the tag becomes unpopular with the public, leaving the bands high and dry without public support (i.e. John Peel sessions, articles, headlining shows) and giving them a shitload of bad press.
I'd like to see the PDF first then maybe go hunting for the book if it's good enough for me.
