Robert Smith beats kids.
http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/nat...-1225903995704
THE stepfather of missing child Kiesha Abrahams last night denied allegations he was seen bashing the girl in the weeks before she disappeared.
Robert Smith released a statement saying he categorically refuted claims made by a Mt Druitt resident that he "bashed" the six-year-old in the face with a clenched fist.
Albert Lafaele made a statement to police on Monday, claiming he witnessed Mr Smith attacking a little girl, who he believed was Kiesha, about a fortnight before she was reported missing. But in the statement, read by family friend Alison Anderson, Mr Smith said the allegations were not true.
"The family wish to deny the recent allegations in the media," Ms Anderson said yesterday.
Mr Smith and Kiesha's mother Kristi Abrahams have stayed out of the spotlight for the past three days at a western Sydney motel.
"The family encourage the public to come forward with any information that may assist police to find Kiesha, but please stop making baseless allegations," Ms Anderson said. But Mr Lafaele, who made a lengthy statement to police on Monday night, said yesterday he stood by his claims.
"I know what I saw, and I came forward because that little girl deserves me to tell the police what I saw and what I know," he said.
Meanwhile, a group of Mt Druitt locals launched their own search mission to find Kiesha, vowing not to give up even though the police ground search had been suspended.
After some advice from a psychic, a team of about six people scoured through scrubland at nearby Bidwill yesterday morning in the hunt for the missing girl or clues to explain her disappearance.
"We won't stop. We will look everyday 'til we find this little girl, dead or alive," resident and volunteer searcher Colin Thompson said.
It has been almost 11 days since Kiesha was reported missing from her family's Woodstock Ave home.
A police spokesman said it was a "lengthy and complicated" investigation but detectives were confident there would be an outcome.
Now the fun begins.

I know, me too (almost).
I can sleep at night knowing the rantings of the likes of babybats and fellow cure fans await me upon my awakening.

Sad story. I fear they will not find her alive. Too close to the batcave for my liking.

Not on topic at all, but Friday as I was burning a CD of romantic music I pulled up lists of romantic songs on the interwebs and decided to include "Lovesong" by The Cure on the disk after reading that Robert Smith really is a romantic. He married his childhood sweetheart in 1988 ... and they're still together.

That song was a wedding gift to Mary, his wife!
It is so scary that the girl is missing, but I can't help but think things like "Did anyone look down on Fascination Street?"

I love this song. It's beautiful.
