There was some show on PBS about this pioneer who was abandoned by his friend and mauled by a bear. He barely survived and crawled up to the log so that the maggots would eat the gangrene out of his wounds, and the only thinng keeping him alive was his desire to kill his ex-friend.
Then he got back to the city and decided to forgive his friend, and I was like WTF?
