Blue jeans

Any ideas for making blue jeans look less "Mmm,Bop" and more goth and morbid?

I still have one or two in the bottom of the closet *gasp*.
One pair is a dark blue stretchy one with gold colored stitching.
It is the one I want to meddle with.

I would have taken a picture of it, but I have to charge up my batteries first for my camera first. *groan*.

I thought of bleaching something on it, then going over the white area with a colored marker, probably red or blue, or even just black.

*shrug*

You can dye them another color, the denim "pattern" will still come through a bit so you wont end up with a flat color and personal I think that colored denim is quite fun. Patches are also easy to add and can give them a bit of flair, I have also been known to stitch lace and ribbons around the seeming but I'm not sure how well that would work for you.

You could dip them in human blood and bat secretions.

Opteron_Man.
Rip 'em.
Slice 'em
Cut bits off 'em
Stick bits on 'em.
But the turn ups at the bottom just look odd...

"Mmm, Bop"?

What the fuck?
Do you goth kids really have to make EVERY SINGLE thing have a "gawthic" flair?
It's just jeans, who cares?

The smell would be overpowering, though. :-P

I don't think that jeans can look morbid, but you should just dye them if you are not pleased with their current appearance.

I think they are fine for everyday wear as they are with perhaps a black top and big boots. I've vaguely thought about sewing (or ironing on) some patches to my blue jeans. So far I have not yet bothered.

Some things with are more neutral can stop you looking overdressed or as if you're perhaps trying too hard (not that I think you particularly do).

Casual can be good at times. I have quite a few more 'normal' type clothing that I wear with stuff that perhaps more typically goth for everyday life.

I agree with the sentiment of it being "gawfic", but at the same time, I can see where he may feel like simple blue jeans are just boring to him, which is reason enough to care. He's wearing them, he may as well like what he's wearing, no?

Opteron, as for trying to make everything goth, why not do something different and try to actually make it a real art project? You can paint some pictures and sew them on to the jeans or indeed bleach big white fields into them and do some expressionist art on them.

You don't have to bleach them at all either, just do whatever you want. The more you start making your stuff more Opteron_Man and not goth, the more fun you might have with it.

After looking at Kontan's avatar, I might put artwork similar to the stuff on a few of the Cure albums on MY blue jeans.

Korinna, you should really read the Sandman series. There is LOTS of really inspirational art in it.

I will!

As for getting Cure album art on my pants, all I'd really have to do is go to an elementary school with a pack of Sharpies. Heh..

As much as I hate jeans, that does sound like an awesome idea and I would totally wear them without complaints.

Those jeans look great. I think a pair of pants that are just right are hard to come by. I have one pair I find just right.

Hope your modifications look good, because those pants are cool.

I wouldn't cuff them. If they're too long, get them hemmed.
I also wouldn't tuck your shirt into them.

Optie, you could always take a cheese grater to strategic places (knee, hip, etc) to make them look worn and scuffed up.

Excuse the hasty judgement but if money were to be envolved you would be bald or closely croped hair.

Excuse me if im wrong, but im thinking you shouldnt try to blend your other subculture with goth. Im pretty sure it wont work out. Though Fred Perry did make some awsome sweater vests lol.

What does hair have to do with pants?
