Question what do you think of nightwishs new vocalist?

Anette Olzen. So what do you think of her? Do you like her, or do you hate her?

Personally, i dont think she's right for the band. Her style is more of a teen-pop sound. And teen-pop with nightwish is just not right. I'm not going to buy their new cd because of her.....

I never have liked Nightwish, they're way too cheesey in so many bad ways.

Have you got a link or anything with their new vocalist singing or something? I don't believe it could get any worse though.

A little too operatic for my tastes.

As much as I dislike her I have to admit that Tarja was a better singer after listening again.

I've only heard one of their albums, so I can't really say.

I hate the new singer, I really loved Nightwish and I always liked to think it was not only her powerful voice but the quality of the other band members. Now they just sound like a shitty version of Evanesence, who aren't that good to begin with.

Sorry, but I hated it.

I don't like the new Nightwish singer at all. I think she makes the bad sound really bad. Tarja suited their fantasy sort of sound and she sounded good. The new singer just sounds like a bad versoin of Sharon from Within Temptation. That's who she reminded me of.

I don't even like Nightwish. But I listened to both signers right now. I think the first one. Uhm, the old signer was better.

But either way. I'm just stating my opinion, even though I don't listen to them. *Goes to a Cure thread.....*

I, personally, am a HUGE Nightwish fan (haha, go ahead and maim me) and I must say, I was very displeased with Annette. Not that she can't sing or anything, it's how her voice doesn't fit with the symphonic backdrop of Nightwish's music. I think she'd be better suited for a more... not sure how to put it--I guess a softer rock-type band?

Loved Nightwish, loved Tarja.

New album is okay, but reminds me of Within Temptation. I liked the Operatic Metal sound with Tarja.

That said, I love the Instrumental versions of the songs on their latest album, and lyric quality hasn't suffered much.

I like the new Nightwish. Tarja was talented, but there was something about her voice I didn't like a lot, but I can't figure out what it is. I honestly like Anette's voice.

You know, there was only one song I really liked by Nightwish.
It was "Nemo", and for that opening little melody, only.

This reminded me of Britney Spears more then anything else.

Just heard a song by them and I have to say I prefer this new girl.
I'm still not going to listen to Nightwish, the music is still too over-the-top-that's-not-even-good. That's what I don't like about metal: the multiple voices reminiscent of Gregorian chants are nice and the whole 'Final Level Now Against the Last Boss or the World Is Doomed" tone can be cool sometimes, but when all is said and done, metal seems to me to just be a guy saying "hay look what I can do with a guitar!!"
Anyway back to my point. Tarja was an opera singer wannabe, and Minyaliel would have agreed with me. This new girl has a nice voice and just sings because she can.

I never much liked Tarja's singing. Too much nasal. Opera...doesn't mean you have to sound like you're singing out of your nose. My opinion, anyways. And I don't/never much liked the male vocalist. From the samples on Myspace, the new music doesn't sound so promising. This new girl doesn't sound half bad...But she does sound like a slew of other female-fronted bands that have the same sort of sound, personally. Which isn't good. But, Eva sounds really nice. The chorus on Amaranth is catchy and even nice to listen to, but I don't know if I like it more cause of its catchiness or because it's actually a good song. Well, that's only a sample, anyways.

I listened to the song two minutes ago, got bored, and came back here after taking care of my little sister. I have completely forgotten what she sounded like now.

Miss Annette was that forgettable.

She's not bad, she's just dull and unmemorable.

Haven't heard the new Nightwish, will checkit out. I loved the imagery in the Nemo video, not the song so much, but seriously, it's an awesome video. You snobs ought to watch it.

She has a beautiful voice (if a bit pop-y). I really prefer Tarja's operatic style, but even she was going a bit mainstream to the end there.
