Cool Black Metal

Is anyone over here simply ape shit crazy for black metal? If so, any good suggestions?

This also implies gothic metal, doom metal, celtic metal, death metal if you insist, and any other extreme metal (yes that's a genre) group you wish to put in.

I do likes me a bit of black metal, such as:

Anorexia Nervosa
Burzum
Darkthrone
Dimmu Borgir
Emperor
Gorgoroth
Immortal
Keep of Kalessin
Marduk
Mayhem
Mercyful Fate (Not quite BM, but still very influential and excellent)
Mutiilation
Satyricon
Siebenburgen
Swordmaster

I really need to listen to more bands >.> These are mostly the big famous ones that most metal people have heard of

Bloodthorn, Falkenbach, Mercyful Fate and Kind Diamond, Stormwitch (Tales of Terror), Stratovarius (early, Fright Night album especially), Aeturnus, Limbonic Art, Phantom Lord (Evil Never Sleeps), Wolf (Edge of the World), Phantom (Dead or Alive), Immortal and earlier Emperor and Satyricon are my favorites for all metal genres across the board.

This link is invaluable if you like any early heavy metal:

http://vibrationsofdoom.com/test/index.html

Stormwitch, Stratovarius, Phantom, Phantom Lord, and Wolf are all there, so you can get an idea of their sound and you can also sift through the over 1200 albums to find stuff that speaks to you.

The catch is that while the whole albums are scanned in, the quality is shit because the dude that runs the website wants to sell you the good copies. But I mean, there's always torrents if you like something on there...

Also, I'm sorry I didn't indicate what up there is more of the black metal style you were looking for:

Bloodthorn, Aeturnus, Limbonic Art, Immortal and earlier Emperor and Satyricon.

Although I like everything up there. Also, I forgot Arcturus. And Old Man's Child, Gehenna, Carpathian Forest, Abigor, Summoning, Burzum, and Dark Throne are all next in line - once you've exhausted the plethora of options you've been given by everone here.

You should probably check out some Death Metal like Nile or Vader (I don't relaly listen, so can't really recmmend stuff) as Behemoth have gone all death metally in recent years

Nile and Vader are pedestrian Death Metal under the guise of bringing something new. Trust me, neither band are that special. I like them both, but if you're looking to try out Death Metal, it's best to get into the great stuff first, good first impressions and all that.

Point taken, I really can't stand death metal, oddly enough.
And regarding your previous post, care to reccommend some Dark Funeral songs? I'm always open to expanding my BM collection

Everything. I know it sounds stupid, but really, everything. They haven't, in my opinion, released a bad song.

Good man, some nice choices there

Also, anyone ever heard any Xasthur? Bought one of their albums the other day, and its more Ambient Black metal, but it was still very good imo

Yeah, I'm looking to expand more, it seems any song I listen to in the black metal genre I simply fall in love with. It is my infallable standby genre =).

Plus I can do most of the vocals of Graveworm so that makes me happy( best example is It's a Sin)

Valo, a lot of what you listed is Death metal, except Iron Maiden, they just suck big hairy bawls. Blind Guardian is power metal but quite good.

and Rorschach, I know, I hate grindcore too, and My Dying Bride is amazing

They're not exactly black metal, but they're extreme alright!
