What is particularly reprehensible about incidences like these is that the church's first priority is insuring that the victim's faith isn't shattered, then maybe getting law enforcement involved later, if there's time. The first response isn't "Holy shit there's a violent criminal in our congregation who needs to go to prison," it's "You know that God still loves you, right?"
