Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

Oooh - new In Flames. Didn't know about that.
I bought The Cookbook by Missy Elliot. Not much of a hiphop fan, but I love her. Probably because I like a lot of old school stuff and she uses a lot of that.

Underworld 2 soundtrack (which I have yet to even listen to)
Nine Inch Nails - With Teeth (second copy, someone scratched my first copy)

Sisters of Mercy `Some Girls Wander By Mistake`
I got this today, and it is brilliant, it has all the early stuff (`80 - `83) which includes the `Reptile house E.P` , and the `Temple of Love` single (both of which I have on vinyl) .

Good one! I've got that too, and it totally rawks. Love that crummy, caustic sound of their early stuff. The little piece of writing on the inlay is pretty funny, too. Actually I have all the Sisters albums and compilations except for "Vision Thing", which sounds really 1990, in a slicky-icky way.

The UK and Europe have all the good music festivals! America has nothing to compare.

I like one of Fiona Apple's song, though I forgot the song title.
Is the album that bad?

Check it out.
The worst that could happen is that it's the worst album or voice you've ever heard. Unless, the cd has the ability to brainwash people into humping invisible creatures, which is very unlikely. Actually, that could be a funny to watch.

It took awhile for it to grow on me, but after about a week I decided that I liked it. It's different than the previous CDs. The first time I listented to it all the way through, I thought is sounded more commercial than any of them. Then I decided I was wrong and that The Fragile was much more watered down and commerical.
I'll admit though, I may be biased. I think Trent Reznor is a music god. Pretty Hate Machine is still my favorite album of all time.

*"Still Lifes Are Failing" by The Vanishing [CD]. I miss these guys. They're not in S.F. anymore, they're in Berlin. And probably doing some bad-ass Deathrock shows there, too.
*"The Burning Circle And Then Dust" by Lycia [CD]. This album's more on the Ambient side than their others. But to me, that's not a bad thing. it was also the 1st Lycia album where Tara VanFlower did lead vocals. Sometimes Ambient's good to listen to if you're all deep in thought.
*"Streetcleaner" by Godflesh [cassette]. One of the best [& scariest & noisiest] Industrial albums of all time. Standout tracks: "Streetcleaner", "Christbait Rising", "Mighty Trust Crusher", "Dream Long Dead" & "Like Rats" [I think of McDonalds, Starbucks & high-priced luxury Yuppie condos for some reason when I listen to this].
