I got the same response and I'm not a liberal either.... I suspect the test works by measuring knee-jerk reactions to things that are supposed to be viscerally disturbing, so if you are watching your own reactions and questioning things then your results will be off.

Then again, I flunked the written part of the drivers exam 3 times by overthinking things.

I think one of the more amusing statements on the test is "Some people are born with the urge to jump from high places".

Is that question meant to mean 'do you think some people are naturally suicidal?' If so, that's a stupid and rather offensive question.

The test contains many questions and statements that some would consider offensive. There is an explanation of the psychotactical purpose of each question on the website. It is near the bottom. Here is the explanation of the design of the "jump" question provided by the website;

"Superstition and Stereotypy: The belief in mystical determinants of the individual's fate; the disposition to think in rigid categories."

"You should practice doing things with your left hand." Is what they said.
I just love personality tests, Although lots of them tell me more negative things than positives.

Is getting 4.5 good or bad?

3.26 reccurring, a "True American". You know, when I studied psychology at A-Level I did a version of this test, and it came up higher. Guess I'm mellowing in my old age :P

2.2 - liberal airhead.

I would have probably scored lower, but some of the questions even though leading and having a right-slant begged for a left wing answer.

Like the one about 'this country having practices currently happening that make the roman/greek sex orgies look tame' or something to that effect.

There are a couple that taken in todays context point more towards the left than right. I mean, in 1940-1950 that would have had a different meaning and effect on the score.

But hey, I have a picture of a man bangin' a goat on my mobile phone someone sent me via bluetooth at the pub last week.

Don't remember any of that in the ancient greek texts...

Pan and the she-goat? There's a sculpture in the British Museum, though not on display because it is 'too graphic'.

I know Pan is half-goat, but still :P

http://www.politicalcompass.org/test

This is a far better political compass test.

I got this:

http://www.politicalcompass.org/face...3.75&soc=-6.67

Economic Left/Right: -3.75
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.67

Some of the wording on some of the questions were a bit weird.

So I'm nearly an Anarchist, but that's because I actually expect people to have control of the facilities of their minds.

Riiiight. I assure you, I am more conservative than anyone else on this board.

I think.

Economic Left/Right: 5.62
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -0.41
