Say it again? All that self-pity? Ok then. I wouldn't go ahead and call it self pity. That's pretty harsh; especially coming from a complete stranger. I could put a spin on this one and say that most of the people on this site have been pretty damn negative towards me. "Nobody likes depressed people because they suck the life out of everything." well I happen to LOVE depressed people, and compassionate ones too. Sometimes people who are deeply empathetic can get emotional, it's nothing to curse at like it's some sort of disease. All my posts are about being depressed and shit? You haven't read ALL my posts. a heck of a lot of them are about hair cutting and eyeliner, so keep your god damn comments to yourself if you dont have any bright happy sunshine to let down on my sob story life.

Dude (or dudette), I know what it's like to be totally shy. My first year of college wasn't too terrible. I still had my high school homies, but you know how that goes, you start to drift off after high school and that's what began to happen. The first friend I made was a girl who was doubly impressed by my knowledge in film class and also by the fact that I was so nice all the time. She wondered why I always sat by myself in the commissary.
Bottom line: be yourself. People will notice and acknowledge you if they haven't already. Also, find someone with a mutual interest. The club idea works, but it also helps to scope others that you might see who might have a similar passion as you do. The convo can go from there.
And depression does indeed suck, but as everyone else has said, self-destruction isn't the answer. Consider where you're at now as a D and can be improved to be A-level

I in no way, shape or form called you picky. I was referring to myself. It seems you become a tad bit to defensive and take things the wrong way.
It also seems as if you have a few more issues to overcome if you want to keep any friends. I hate to imagine how you would react if someone didn’t specify in a random comment that they weren’t referring to you.
