"Coming Home" by Maria Alexander
It was a very dark tale, brimming with disgust for the disgusting. This is one of those stories that nauseates one; not from any pysichal, concrete gore, but from the shame and detestation of humanity. I cannot deter whether the ghastly *SPOILER*murder *SPOILER* was actual, or a product of the main character's own dementia, or the whiskey. It is not made clear, but it is a fortunate aspect -allowing the reader to interpret his own theory. The words flow very freely and remain very descriptive throughout the story, and every emotion felt by the main character can be easily felt by the reader. I'm definitely going to read more from Maria Alexander.
