Stay safe guys, I have family and some friends not far away. So far a couple trees on my cousin's street have fallen over and knocked out the power lines. She's having a ball though, having stocked up on enough wine to last about five days.

Fuck the zombie apocalypse! I want all out nuclear war with meteors the size of Mt. Everest falling around the world followed by belly kissing werewolves and brain sucking snails the size of VW Beetles hunting the survivors!

Naturally my mother decided that she really wanted to be at the beach this week, hurricane be damned, so she's in the Outer Banks. It isn't the first hurricane she has ridden out at the cottage nor is it the worst but she has the dog with her so she actually has to go outside in this one, which she isn't enjoying but apparently Rusty thinks the weather is super fun.

I heard that a lot of the power outages in NYC are due to a power station blowing, I imagine that means it will be a little harder to fix than downed lines.

Its all good, I wasn't quite born with a silver spoon in my mouth but maybe a silver plated one, I thought I had mentioned the beach cottage before but maybe not.
Corolla hasn't been hit too bad so she is doing fine, the thing that had me worried is that she quickly lost her a back up plan if things do get bad, my cousin's home is just a couple of hours inland so that was where she was going to go if things got too rough but there was some massive flooding between my mom's place and the bridge to go inland. Thankfully most of the storm is well to the north of her so she should be in the clear.

We're fine. Haven't lost power yet, though the side of our building is flooding. Duct taped the door and laid down some bags of cement.
Very lucky compared to the rest. What's the figure now? 7 million without power?
