'Muddy Grind' evokes hilariously dirty visuals in my mind...

But why would you want to talk about grindcore in the first place.

Tru dat, JCC.

To the other guy, let em talk about whatever. If it's something you hate then you have the right to say it, but don't get your panties in a bundle just cause it's not related to goth rock. I've done that a few times on here before, I think, and it just makes you look stupid. There are a billion other threads to talk about goth rock in. Dig em up. If you like punk, you wouldnt complain about how un-goth punk is in a punk thread.

I love grindcore. 'Tis fun.

Favourite genre out of the poll has to be death/doom?

I wish I knew some for ya. I only ever heard the name from my bro who could have just been making it up. Or could be something he created? Maybe it was band name? I dunno.

I can only picture it as grindcore with some kind of Egyptian flavor to the guitar lines if possible and lyrics like "Sutekh sends thousands and thousands of blackened scarabs to feast upon the contents of my skull."

Really? I was going for something that sounded bad. It would most definitely be awful.

Hahahaha, those 'lyrics' actually made me laugh out loud. Probably not far from the truth either...

The most popular genre is "OTHER"!
But I choose sooner alternative music and german folk, and classic, and trance gothic...

Haha. Yeah. I know what death metal and grindcore lyrics are supposed to be like, what with living with my brother and the fact that he walks around playing air guitar and grunting them out a lot. ...and he's supposed to be older than me. Hah.

Every time he walks in on me listening to the Sex Gang Children or something he says stuff like "This is pretty tight. I could rock to this." He's funny. I caught him playing "Beasts" on his guitar once.

I voted funeral doom. I think it sounds beautiful in a depressive gloomy way. IMO curse life by shape of despair is wonderful.

Black Metal was irrelevant, Gothic Metal is awful and Extreme Metal is a blanket term for Death Metal, Doom Metal, Black Metal, Grindcore etc.

I know you're just making conversation, but this shit is exactly what all the Goths were complaining about when people said that Marilyn Manson was Goth and that the Columbine Massacre was a Goth act. Death Metal and Grindcore is more than the surface displayed by your brother, Grindcore tends to be political, for a start.

I don't know what the other bands even are, but I can tell you that Cradle is in no way goth. They are black metal, I do believe.
