True, but that album and song were released in 2006. And Bathory sounding like that? Give me an example.

I'm aware it was released in 2006.
I'm not saying it sounds just like Bathory, or anything. I'm just saying that since Celtic Frost spent a lot of time as '80s metal that the chanting/metal fusion of Bathory would be a more likely influence than Tool.

I'm saying that it sounds a lot like "Parabol". The hypnotic, minimalist rhythms are almost a parallel, the vocals are identical in tone and melody, as is the brief-but-very-similar splice of chant. Coincidence? Maybe, but I think it's more likely than them being influenced by The Sisters. The vocals are more coincidence than anything. What about the instrumentation makes you think it's goth-influenced? The arpeggios?

When was the first time that Tool used this chanting style in a song? I've got a Zakas album released in 2000 with recording starting in 1998 that uses a similar tone and melody.
