A big part of the reason I never want to have kids has to do with my mom. She's an awesome mom, but she put her life on hold to raise us, and talked about going back to school herself once we were all on our feet, but it hasn't happened. She owned a bar and did college with bookkeeping but she sold the bar a few years back and doesn't want to do anything like that again, so she's been waitressing, and her most recent job was at a fast food place frying chicken. It scares the shit out of me that even if you're educated, you could very well end up in fast food in your fifties.
BUT one thing she said she always wanted to do is be a funeral director, but the nearest school for that is out of province and she didn't want to move far from us. Then today she called and said that she got offered an apprenticeship at a funeral home out of the blue ^_^ I'm not supposed to say anything to people who know her since she's starting off part time to see if she can really deal with that kind of work, but I'm so glad she got the opportunity.

I did a pretty good job trimming my bangs this afternoon. Perhaps over the weekend I will be brave and attempt to do the Kitten's bangs because they've grown out down to her mouth!

Goodreads has the best app evar where you can scan the barcodes on books and up comes the page and reviews and ratings for the book!
I might go on a scanning binge right now.

Getting home and getting out of my ridiculously sweaty clothes.
We had a sudden burst of heat in Denmark. It litterally went from fucking cold to incineratingly hot overnight a few days ago.

My faerie necklace and babybat annoucing "The faeirie has boobies". The silversmith who gave me a huge discount on the necklace and told me the story that inspired the design. I was torn between accepting the discount or telling her that she had miscalculated the price and insisting she have the money, which could have been insulting, so confusing.
Shit, I can't remember the last time I bought a piece of jewellery and to have such a beautiful, well made, hand crafted piece....sigh, I feel like the luckiest girl in the world right now.

We had our second now-annual Slut Walk here in Toronto last Friday.
It seemed to make a great impact on the city!
I was surprised to see so many beautiful peoples come out.
