Torturously Delicate

Delicate Torture

1. What do you do? (Hobbies, job)

I'm a Nurse. (An Endorsed Enrolled Nurse for those who know what that is.. if you don't know it really is nothing remotely impressive. It just means that I get paid a tiny bit more to wipe arses.) I'm trained in Psych and Palliative Care, PC being my first love.. although now I work on a rehab ward where I get to say "No, you can't have a bed pan. We are getting you up to the toilet now" over and over again. Wow.. my life and ER. How can you tell the difference?

Hobbies-wise there is music (ecclectic tastes), painting (with soft pastels, mainly the human form), writing (sometimes erotica, sometimes poetry, usually involving blood and pain), reading (I love reading fluffy fun sci-fi/horror), sarcasm, ferrets and crochet. I'm not being sarcastic about the crochet.

2. Where are you from?

Well, when a mummy and a daddy love each other very much.. or, in my case they tolerated each other for a few minutes (hours if you ask my father, minutes if my mother tells the story) they get very close and part of the daddy's body gets... oh? That isn't what you're asking?

Oh. I'm from Sydney, Australia.

No, I didn't know Steve Irwin.

3. Who is your favorite author?

I want to say Samuel Beckett or Pablo Neruda, but being honest... Laurell K Hamilton. I SO have a thing for her Anita Blake Series.

4. What are your favorite films?

Donnie Darko, Broken Saints, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead

5. What music do you want played at your wedding?

Tainted Love by Soft Cell and a piece by Graham Bell called Bell, Book and Candle.

6. At your funeral?

Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again by the Angels

7. This IS a gothic website, so... how do you want to die?

I haven't worked it out yet.. but I want to be found in mysterious circumstances, wrapped in lettuce leaves.

8. What kind of casket would you want?

I want to be cremated and have my ashes kept in one of those cookie jars that are shaped like a cow and MOOOOO when you open the lid. I'm thinking of having the chip changed so the cookie jar says "OI! CLOSE THAT LID.. IT'S COLD IN HERE. WERE YOU BORN IN A BARN?!"

9. What's your FAVORITE outfit?

I want to say my leather corset and black velvet skirt with my 5" heel Demonia boots... but truthfully I would have to say my pj's and fluffy monkey socks.

10. What's one thing you miss about being a little kid?

The whole 'little' part of it.

11. What's your favorite band?

There are so many.. The Cure, Joy Division, Placebo, Dresden Dolls, The Graphics, John Denver. No, I'm not joking. Fuck you.

12. What kind of education do you have? What is/was/will be your major?

I've got a BA and Dip Ed. I studied English Lit and Theatre Studies and then concentrated on children with behavioural issues and developmental delays for my Dip Ed. I also have a Certificate IV in Theology and my Nursing Cert IV. I'm going to be doing a BNursing starting next year.

13. Why did you join?

I've belonged to gothic.org.au for a while now and am a moderator there. I really enjoy it, but I work night duty and there isn't a lot of traffic there overnight. I want something to keep me entertained while I'm at work.. changing adult diapers just doesn't do it for me. I also join Blueblood.net, but that site is blocked on the work computers. Damn internet policies.

14. If the first 13 questions didn't give it away. What is your gender?

I'm a she. It could be confusing at times because I might also refer to my SO as a she as well. This is because I'm a lesbian, not because I'm dating myself.

Sure.. but I'll have to have them back by Monday. I've got plans.

You'd possibly be better marinating them in a nice sweet balsamic vinegar for a while. It should really bring out the flavours.

I'm kind of partial to iceberg at the moment. Something about the cup-shaped leaves would be more aesthetically pleasing with my rounded figure.

Hmm.. mayhaps the balsamic vinegar could come in handy here, too.

No. But I don't think they would let me in. I don't have six fingers, neither do I have sex with relatives.

Welcome, doll. You seem nice, and creative. I like the creative more than the nice.

Aww. Thanks. I know what you mean about the creative/nice ratio. Creative is SO much more fun when it's mixed with a great big dose of nasty.

Mice to meet someone with such a way with words, love your intro, wish mine had been half as good.

I like Laurell K Hamilton's Anita Blake Series too.

Thanks Sarah. You have to realise that I have about 12 years over you in the writing dept... being the ancient relic that I am.

I liked your introduction, though. We're reading the same books.

Heh. I seem to be addicted to AB series too, in spite of my better judgement. So, how did you like the last book in the series?

Welcome!

Thankyou for the welcome.

I liked the last book in her series, although I think that this is mainly because the book of hers that I read just before that was Micah and it was really quite boring. I did notice that with her last effort she seems to have dropped all pretense of having Anita work a case during the book and it really was just a whole lot of sex scenes strung together.

Her writing style is continuously getting stronger, however for some reason her plot lines are becoming weaker to an almost non-existant level. I think that this might be due to the timeframe that the book is set over, though. In the beginning her books spanned over days, where as now they span over an evening or a single day... there isn't a great deal of forward movement that a plot can do in such a short time. Apparently there are a great number of people/creatures that someone can have sex with in such a short time, though.

I loved watching the different characters reactions to the whole pregnancy issue, though.

And basically, Jean-Claude and Asher could star in a used car advertisment and I'd be hooked.

Thanks. I like you too. Anyone who takes the effort to post in a different colour, likes Anita Blake, Donnie Darko and appreciates the absolute gothasfuckinggothness of fluffy monkey slippers has got to be a great person.

Glomps back all over you.

Hmm.. I believe I said erotica and poetry. I would post some erotic poetry for you... but apparently you aren't a great reader, so I'll post something for you when you get finished reading 'See Spot Run.'

Heh.. ok, there is the sarcasm (which was meant in jest, by the way [/DISCLAIMER]), and now here is some poetry for you.

Quote:
A shared moment in the dark.
As daylight looms,
Pressing down it's weighted reality
Against the liquid movement
Of their souls.
It threatens to trap whispered secrets
In one moment, one time.
One frozen instant
As they gasp, as one,
And claw towards the sky.
As daylight looms upon the broken edge of dawn…
And spills forth
To wrap it's arms around them.

No, I can read quite well. But your right, my ability to put two and two together isn't at it's best.

But in the mean time....

Can you write an erotica version of See Spot Run? Just a thought.
