I wrote this for the first guy that ever broke my heart... It's a tad juvenile, but so was I, at the time. It's a series of images from the night I had my heart shattered.
Ha! I knew I remembered posting something. Ok, so it's shitty, but it's something!

Lost Innocence
As I look back on my life,
I realize the force behind my pain and strife,
Humanity's dark invention,
A concept beyond my comprehension.
The pivotal threshold that everyone must cross,
Advancement for a greater loss.

Damn, wish I could write like that. Very good.

Thank you, Humane Pain; I am looking forward to another one of your poems. Here's another one of my "diddies":

Lost Love
Noone can feel my pain,
See your tomb through my personal rain,
Yet it is fitting that death separated us two,
For life didn't deserve someone as beautiful as you.

Dancing with Time

Dancing with Time
*****************

In the darkness

A gentle glow.

The black you wear

Shines.

Under the black gloves

I feel your warmth.

As you grasp my shoulders

You lift me somewhere else.

When I dare

To gaze into your eyes

Time stands still.

I can only listen

To what they say to me.

Even a blink

Seduces me

With every lash.

Your gentle smile

Captures me with lips

That promise love

Both spoken

And felt.

Your sleek hair

Against my face

Overwhelms

Every sensation.

Time is conquered

In only a moment

For I will remember

Forever.

Sea of Immorality

He praises his darkest tendencies
Surpassing the wombs he has caused
My love.
I am beckoned by your touch of fate
I shall kiss your lips of iniquity,
tasting the molding apathy
Break free, my love.
I will not keep you
Fly past the glistening chimes, land your favor in my palm
My Paris.
Your air of mystery is eternal
Lay down in my sea of sympathy,
I am waiting love.
Let my tear drops wash away the immorality,
I will drink your pain....and salvage it for myself
Cry in my will, I will grant it's departure.
Swim away with me, we'll drown in ignorance
Nothing else matters anymore
Only you love

Thank you my dear DarkHearted one, and I love your poetic description of your breaking heart. Pain in life can drive one to produce the most epic literary and musical creations. But I believe Nietzsche tried to teach us that not all that hurts is bad for us, and not all that makes us feel happy is good for us, or something like that. As the years unleash their cruel lessons, I have found that to be true.

And thanks for contributing to this thread. Legacy members such as A Simple Poet would be glad to see it continue. Perhaps they will return someday.

My sister wrote this one

THE DARK CLIFF

By Terry Ann

So silent at night
So grand its might;
The Dark Cliff stares
With all its might.

Horses' hooves sound
Against the canyon walls,
Sound and resound;
Cowboys, their quarry found.

A horse hard-pressed,
The stallion, a statue stood;
The wind gave a last caress,
The horse looked like wood.

A defiant neigh was clear.
The horse leaped free
And without fear,
Paid with death;
Freedom's fee.

The men looked and saw
The horse upon the rocks;
With set jaw
They walked away.

But some hear hooves;
The Dark Cliff never moves;
The dead stallion's call
Resounds against canyon wall.

Portrait Painted Black

Below the gate of confusion,
I limp in dismay over the forsaken bones of the naive

The blackened melody softens my soul,
a harmless deceiver it is.

Pelt, a reflection of one's heart,
a deceptive shield from the plain

Inferior visions fading my ounce of light,
The odyssey of dissent is almost complete

A trusting voice speaks in approval,
Beloved.
Your here.

i've read some nice literature here! maybe we could make a magazine only for ourselfes or for other but i would enjoy a magazine with the most worthy poems! anyway here's how i pleed:

introverted by a piece
of a foreign soul
that won't release
my mind from crawling
out of this pale eggshell
"what should i do?"
i'm to scared
and alone
and cold,
but all hope is not lost
cause hope dies last
forget the past
a spell to cast canot be done
and i won't run!

A poetic mind,
words jutting out like gravestones in a cemetary.
A darkened soul,
sickness flowing from,
Like a veil from a wedding gown.
A grey soul counts years,
as a dusty clock keeps kime.

Your posts remind me of the beauty of poetry, and HP, poetry must run in the family

Love's Groom

Such a weird marriage is this,
This union of pain and bliss.
Their sweet embrace,
In such a peaceful place.
Always together,
These lovers are enjoined forever.
Death's painful eternal kiss,
How can we love someone we cannot miss?

A Night's Bloom

A tint of white blooms the obscure

A Nocturnal state it still beholds,

Such a natural invasion awakens the watch

A passive will, a vowed promise

Time, a green infant, unknown to the tender

A toned caress, hint of unborn peace

Serenity ablaze, a cue of a better purpose

A cheer of relief echoes from within,

the voyage of light is nigh total

The acknowledged mind of the dire, lay wishful in the shadows

Eternally I beam of pure ecstasy, the dim thrown into the past

A shear of white, secretes my trail of harm

I,

am a night's bloomer

the reply of charmel Arclight

Thank you for you: for who you are,
However far away.
And for the words you send to me,
Near mad or sad for what you say.
Knowing simply that you're there,
Yet thinking much of me.

Then your mind then explode and your soul bled,
As if your enemy had Fled.
as if you've seen a rose, covered in blood,
Heiliges Quillrose, now found!

and Knowing simply that you're there,
Yet thinking much of me,
and Opens up my happiness,
Undone for all to see.

I did this a month ago.

Striving to be perfect
Striving to be thin
I want the perfect body
Will this battle ever end?
Obsession of perfection
Anorexic? No I must stand tough
because starving myself just wouldn't be enough
I am getting tired of looking like this
No matter how hard I try
I always seem to fail
I must stop this now before I become a lie.
I have tried starvation though it still did not seem to please
I will never be perfect and the pain will never cease
I look into the mirror and hate myself even more
What does it mean? What is it for?
I am not happy with myself and sometimes I just want to die
From myself I tried to hide.
No one will ever like me I always tell myself
I always find myself praying to God for some help.
It seems he nevers listens or probably doesn't care
Maybe he just can't hear me because he probably isn't there.
I even tried throwing up but still I look the same
Ugly and fat with all this fucking pain
Everyone says I'm pretty but what do they see in me
Just an ugly monster wanting to be free.

It has potential, and I like the erratic rhyme scheme, but some parts feel fake or unnecessary, and a couple of the rhymes seemed a little forced.

If you didn't want a critique, I apologize, and in the future I'll just give a general impression. Just let me know!

Whoa, I wrote this about three years ago about my neighbor, and I just rediscovered it. I forgot I even wrote much poetry back then.

"In Memory of Henry Robert Goebel"

Sometimes
When I’m alone
I can hear your voice
Clear as a bell
Ringing in my ears
And for that one small second
I smile
Because I never thought
I’d hear you again
I never thought
I’d see you again
That I’d see you as you were
Before you got so sick
And couldn’t walk or talk
But I guess I was wrong
For there you were
Talking to me, and smiling
Your eyes so full of life
But all too soon
I awoke
It had all been a dream
Just a dream
And you were gone
I never got to say “good-bye”
And it’s haunted me ever since
All I want
Is to see you again
To hear your voice
And to be able to say
“Good bye Hank,
I love you.”

The Confessions of a Dangerous Emo

O my pain,
enough to go insane.
I can not see Simple Plan,
I am a souless man.
I must express my emotion
By jumping into the ocean
But alas, I cannot sink to my doom.
All the years of living in my room
Has made me morbidly obese.
More cake, please,
What no more?!
I will kill that whore.
What can life be without cake?
Just a horrid mistake.
I must respond to my anger's call
By wearing clothes that do not match at all.
