getting a perm?

I've liked curly hair for a while
Not frizzy small unmanageable curls but big pretty ones. However if I get a perm, this will be for good, or at least my hair grows out. Has anyone got one and did you regret it?

I've had good perms and bad perms. Some I've loved and some I've hated.
As long as the person you go to knows what they are doing and you take care of your hair, it'll be beautiful and last a long time.

Um, just so you know, perms aren't actually permanent.

If your hair is virgin hair then just about anywhere should be able to give you a good perm, for non-virgin hair I would recommend shelling out the cash for a nicer salon. If you don't like it you can get your hair chemically straightened, or just use a straightener.

Just so you know most curls do require you to properly take care of them so make sure to ask the hairdresser to teach you how to style it (and you should get a defuser if you plan on blow drying it)

test it with a friend first without the chemicals, so you can wash out the curls if you don't like them.

Also, invest in a round brush if you want to go for sleek curls rather than 80s ones.

I like large curls too. But perms damage your hair and to be honest, the curls don't land so much where I want them to when I have gotten perms in the past...so I still had to straighten then re-curl. I just use a curling iron everyday now. It won't last forever though, perms do fall out after a few months, faster if you have really straight hair.

I had a kinda weak straight perm a couple of weeks ago, I had dyed it tons of times before, and it was already in bad shape, but somehow, it seems it didn't take almost no damage from it at all. It's not straight, but it's straight enough for me. I recommend you doing it at home, it wasn't hard and only cost about 6 euro.

No, honey! CHERISH YOUR STRAIGHT HAIR. I have disgustingly curly hair.

My hair is kind of in the middle, I was thinking about getting a perm but I then I couldn't dye it every time I get bored so I think I'm just going to get a nice curing iron.
