Well, as of now I have been listening to "Bananamontana" by Motionless in White quite a lot. This song has actually brought me to tears at times. The title sucks, I know, but it really has nothing to do with the content, or lyrics of the track.

Usually classical music. That and the more melancholy songs on the soundtrack for the Tanz Der Vampire musical.

When I'm hungover or feeling a little delicate, soft jazz or ambient music. Depressed - blues (obviously) or something ugly, like The Fall. The song "The Weight" by The Band is a beautiful, desolate folk tale that came to mean a lot to me around the time my dad died, and I still find it bizarrely comforting on a weepy drunken night. Devo can usually raise a smile if I feel like cheering it up a little.

A Warm Place. Been doing it for just about 16 years now. The only NIN song that makes me feel 'good', and cheers me up more than just about any other piece of music.

A small playlist always gets me through--

The Damned--Smash it Up. Hell yes.
Blue Oyster Cult--Burnin' for You. Yes, yes indeed.
Men Without Hats--Safety Dance. It really IS a Safety Dance....
The GAP Band--Oops, Upside Your Head
LED Zeppellin--Rock 'N' Roll
MGMT--Electric Feel(which you already know, of course)
Aha--Take On Me
Christian Death--Romeo's Distress

And alot of House Of Hair, Dee Snider bullshit. That makes me feel good. Nothing like Leppard to smack you up out of a depression. And
Kickstart My Heart--Motley Crue, will do the trick for sure.
