Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

What's a good song for when your pissed off?
Ever had that feeling when you're hacked off with something just to play the loudest mostobscene track you can find? What would it be and why?
Mine would probably be Lord Abortion by Cradle of Filth, the lyrics tend to terrify anyone who is in a decent frame of mind.

i would have to say anything by flogging molly just because their music is great for drinking and most people when they get mad they drink.

I TOTALLY agree with you on that. And I'm not just saying that. Before I clicked on the post that was my first choice and when I saw that you agreed...it made my day...well not really but still...Cradle of Filth is good.

Good point Xng.
If i want to stay pissed off i'll put on Jumpdafuckup by Sepultura, yet if i want to mellow out, i'll put on Damien Rice or any track from The Garden State Soundtrack.

Fig.14 IOWA by Slipknot. The ratio of lyrical content versus the actual amount of music is rather unbalanced. But I like it that way. It's a great beat for you to destroy your room to.

When I’m so pissed off I feel like laying waste to all of humanity on goes The Fight Song.
I don’t sing but I play the bass. It easy and makes a lot of noise, just what you need at the time.

I listen to a lot of noisy and chaotic music whether I'm angry or not, so it's kinda hard to pick out one song from five thousand or whatever. I'm rarely pissed off as such, but if I am, most likely it will be some really fast black metal, like Funeral Mist (song: Breathing Wounds), 1349 or Emperor (Curse You All Men).
Or maybe I'll put on some grindcore like Ed Gein, Napalm Death, Bucket Full of Teeth or The Sawtooth Grin. Converge, His Hero is Gone and Every Time I Die are also good.
Fuck, there are so many! It all depends on whether you just want to stoke the fires of a directionless anger, or use it in a constructive way, which is arguably the best solution. I dislike Slipknot and bands of their ilk precisely because they pander so blatantly to the former instinct.

True that, X... I admit I am guilty of this too, at times.
If I'm really, seriously angry though, it just makes me feel nauseous and shivery for some reason.

Funeral Mist are Swedish, and not like Emperor at all. Except for the speed factor. They are brutal, chaotic and scary as all hell, seriously. No synths, no proggy, melodic riffs, just pure evil and bloodlust. Extremely fast drummer that still manages to hit the skins hard. A disorienting maelstrom of murky noise with layers of demonic screaming buried in the mix.
Words cannot do justice to the evil atmosphere they conjure up. Has to be heard to be believed, really.

No, although the sound is definitely grim and blurry, Funeral Mist are a lot more complex and technical and have better production, at least compared to the early Darkthrone stuff. And their songs are weird, unlike the more traditional song structures of Darkthrone.
I would recommend the Salvation album.

"Where Evil Dwells", a Godflesh tribute-song by Fear Factory [from the album "Obsolete"]. Good song to go aggro to. For me, Death Metal & most especially Sludge Metal does it for me.

I don't usually get pissed off. So, I really don't know.

I think I can end this with Fear Factory's song Martyr. If you're pissed and angry and were not at the point of homocide, then listened to Martyr, you will go on a killing spree.

I'm with Wolf - I think 'Walk' by Pantera is the best rage song ever. That, and 'Do You Think I'm A Whore' by Kittie.

Logan,
Have you heard about Emperor reforming for some shows in the summer?.
EMPEROR REFORM 04/10/05
Black metal legends Emperor reunited after four years to play a surprise three-song set for Norwegian metal magazine Scream's fifteenth anniversary celebrations which took place at Oslo's Rockefeller club on September 30. The tracks performed were 'The Loss And Curse Of Reverence', 'I Am The Black Wizards' and 'Inno A Satana'. Norwegian metal radio show Tinnitus was at the venue to witness the historic moment and the show's producer Patrizia Mazzuoccolo spoke to Samoth just prior to the show. "We are not playing a full show tonight," Samoth explained. "This is a short teaser that we are using to announce full headline shows we are doing next year. This is a cooler way of announcing them instead of telling people through our website." Following the band's set it was announced that Emperor will headline both the Inferno and Wacken Open Air festivals in 2006. Although Samoth and Trym will be recording a third Zyklon album in November and Ihsahn is releasing a solo album in March next year, the likelihood of Emperor once again venturing into the studio is as yet unclear.

Du Hast is a great song... And pretty much the only one I know by Rammstein.
