What song/songs are you working on?

I'm a-workin' on 3 songs 1 being a love song, another being a song 'bout work, and how sometimes you have to kill yourself((not in the literal sense...)) to make a good living. The last is about life choice, the roads one must walk... spare me the "That's SOOO cliche", because I know they be that.

I'm working on a few. Mostly same subject matter as Discharge or Disclose. I'm also working on an Oi! song for "our fans" to chant along to.

I'm working on a song about a gang of vipers rioting through a city in the middle of an earthquake that's erupting hell loads of fire.

I'm working on my next release, i'm gunna make it more extreme than the last, but I have to do that without going too much into noise territory....but I have a few ideas.

It's gunna be called Bipolar, one side based on misery and the other on insanity, not songs about the feelings themselves but to try and have that sort of feel...I hate being too obvious. You get me?
I experimented with backmasking on the demo, so I might do some more things pertaining to psychoacoustics.

Two songs are currently in the making, "Perfect Desolation" and "Loved By a Necrophiliac".
The idea behind Perfect Desolation is basically nihilism and the need to slip into pure none existance, i've put white noise and crackling through out to try and get that sort of feel in the music rather than just through lyrics.
Loved By A Necrophiliac is actually about the association of sex with death...not an actual necrophiliac...lol.

It's gunna be good.

We're currently on the post-production phase of our first album, "By the Dying Light".

Track listing currently looks like this:

1. An Ill-Fated Night
2. Choice (Lament)
3. Defined
4. Weep
5. Midnight
6. Beyond the Veil
7. Cryptostasis
8. The smallest death
9. Sleep
10. Dawning of a Bitter Morn

It might not be evident, but this album actually does follow a theme...

I'm trying to make a song about The Esoteric Order of Dagon. I also recently wrote one about a scarecrow who acts like the pope and deliveres religious speeches and ceremonies to baren fields of no one. Ideas are brewing for songs about the grossness of city life and perhaps a synthy tribal song called "Hideous Piping for Azathoth".
Lovecraft sure gives some great inspiration for songs.

I was watching Music and Lyrics, and I realized that I sucked at writing lyrics as bad as that one dude does.

Been trying to finish up a song about teenager that kills her family and sets the house on fire. Just can't seem to finsh up the lyrics. Sometimes I spend way too much time on the lyrics.

I wrote a song dedicated to H.P Lovecraft called "The Hand Of The Elder Gods", Dfinately fantastic inspiration.

I like the concept for the scarecrow one aswell, that is fabulous! and alot more original than songs about cutting yourself and what not. Go you!

At the moment I'm trying to help my friend, Ryan, write some songs for his band. So far we've got two songs done, and we're in the process of brainstorming the third, which will be a sort of duet between he and I.

It's looking good so far, too.

I actually think my band is about to get back together... so I suppose we're going to be working on a lot. Probably about philosophy, nature, and love is what we'll be writing. We're mostly instrumental, so I'm not sure.

Still mixing and working on some ambient scores. I have the prototype up on my MySpace with a temporary name: Whispers of the Battle. I really want to come up with another name...

Currently working on a bluesy song about fear of rejection and unrequited and various other bluesy themes.

And a fairly trippy song about love.

Next one to get done is "Vomit On Your Lover" and "She Speaks In Feedback"

I need my girlfriend for some of the vocals im those....and I have a month....mwa hahahaha! challanges and pressure.

I'm working on an album... sort of. I've just been through a time when I just couldn't stop myself from writing new lyrics, so now I'm trying to make some musical settings for them. It's a concept album about a girl who runs away from her native city, a sleepy, stifling little town of the kind where everybody knows each other and it's really important not to get out of the line. She seeks her freedom in the big city, becomes a dancer and eventually a singer at a vaudeville show and seems to enjoy much success. Unfortunately she looses sight of reality, not being used to show business, and through a series of unfortunate events (pun intended...) finds herself all alone in the midst of the crowd. She starts taking drugs (dolls, as they used to be called in stage slang), parties hard and in the end this proves to be her downfall. This is set somewhere between 1900- 1940, by the way. It's a rather ambitious project, but I'm having loads of fun with it, playing with many different genres and mixing them together as I please. There'll be a lot of vaudeville/ cabaret style elements in some of the songs, most of them mixed until they start sounding cold and even slightly psychedelic/ demented, then there's ballads and a few things inspired by new wave and the more punkier side of postpunk. I couldn't resist putting in a bit of ambient and glamrock too, amongst other things like jazz and progrock - I'm rather looking forward to see where this whole thing will end up myself, musically speaking.

This is the current track list:

~Valley of the Dolls~ (this is the name of the album)

Bruregraaten (Introduction) (This you can find on my myspace as "The Bride's Plaint")
I'm On My Way
Revelations
To One In Paradise (a musical setting of the poem by EA Poe)
(It's Just A Little Bit Of) Rain
Have A Doll
Anatomy of the Monkey Man
Apathy's Child
The Wave
Father
All Tomorrow's Parties (a cover of the song by Velvet Underground; demo version available on Myspace)
The Fool
Valley of the Dolls
All Her Favourites
Song for a Broken Doll
