Do not fool yourself, every one is deluded in some way... the sad thing is we don't always know what these delusions of ours are...

I'd bet that some delusions can be helpful, I can't think of any right off the top of my head, but I'll get on it...

One delusion is thinking everything will turn out okay. It is motivational in small doses, yet a person could end up dead on the street waiting for everything to get better. Of course, they dyed so they did not know how it all turned out.
