Well, I think she probably doesn't think that but probably does wish you were more open minded. I do understand that we're all wired differently, and that's why I commented on it logically. I wasn't trying to make you feel bad or even make the point that there was anything wrong about your feelings ... just that they had the potential to be limiting to you in the future.

I keep trying to convince my SO that she'd be a lot more healthy if she included more vegetables in her diet, but her mother totally ruined it for her. Her mother made vegetables plain, with no seasoning or even butter or salt ... and my SO was made to eat everything on her plate. For the most part she can't stand them ... she can tolerate the occasional green bean if she has to, and potatoes are fine but hardly the most nutritious of vegetables.

So at this point, I say simply and lovingly that I want her to be healthy for a long time, and it would be nice if she tried to get more vegetables in her diet, but I understand that just wanting it to be so is not enough to change that deeply embedded programming. And we make sure she gets vitamin supplements.

Sometimes you just have to respect that the way someone is wired is the way they are. And you adjust as best you can.

I can sometimes understand why people hate their freckles, especially if they've got those big splotchy ones.
