Fashion DIY tips and gratuitous plugs. And hair. Hair! Flow it, show it. Wait...no. That's some hippie musical. Nevermind. |

Dreads/Falls
I really really want some nice long dreads/falls. I'm wondering who here has them. How much did they cost? Did you get the kind you could take out and put in? How hard are they to tie in?

I've always thought about getting some falls, but I don't want to grow my hair out that much to be able to put them in only to see how horrible they look on me. Only certain males I've seen really pulled them off I think.

Oh they cost soo much if you buy them pre-made. I've been looking at a pair that's 70$ 0_0. I suppose its cheaper if you buy materials and make them. But I have no clue as to how to make them. If you want fall infomation, I'd suggest talking to Saddiction or DarkGentleman.

I don't think they're that expensive, it's just getting them put in.

I used to wear dreadfalls..I think they are pretty stupid looking now, though.
Anyway...one pair I got off of...ikickshins I think. They were medium length and $50.
Why not just make some from yarn? They are incredibly easy to make.

I make falls. They're easy to install and it would be actually cheaper to make your own. Plus you can make them better by putting what you want on it rather than hope gravely that the receiver is making them exactly how it appears in your head. If you look around enough you'll find info on how to make them. Here are some sites I used to make my falls with:

Make your own. It's cheaper. For synthetic dreads, buy some KK hair, backcomb it and then seal with steam or boiling water. It's a fairly easy (yet time consuming) process.

If you want extensions, then braid them in. If you want falls, mount them on something like lace. Tie your hair into a bun(s) and tie the fall(s) securely around it.

I think what I'm after are falls more than dreads, and luckily, it seems they're easier to put in. I can do the big dreaded pigtails thing with falls right? That's one of the main things they're for? That's all I need really. Falls are more kind of like wigs, and normal synth dreads are more like hair extensions. Except falls actually properly become part of your own hair by tying in instead of sitting on top. Am I right?
