Like in a stripper video, I'll make the animated gif include everything right up until the frame before a nipple is revealed. I even have a couple where it looks like she's showing something ... but if you look close you'll see it's "close but no cigar!"

I may be a raving pervert at heart, but I know enough not to share it with the kiddies.

And, ummmm ... let me see what kind of tramp, harlot or beauty queen I have avaible to trot out here!

I've worked in the cellular business for over 6 years. I'm about to give you some advice on saving that phone.

Most people screw up the phone by trying to turn it on too soon. Your average cell phone has so many components pressed so close together, that it stays damp inside your phone for much longer than you could imagine. We're talking as long as a week or more.

Blow drying or vaccuuming will not dry out the inside sufficiently. Many of the phones that I saw come into our store ruined were trashed when people blow dried the phone from the outside, and assumed at a certain point that the inside must be dry by now. Then they turned it on and that little bit of moisture across the circuit board short circuited the electricity and fried the phone.

First remove the battery. Best options are;

1) If you're brave, take the phone apart and blow dry the components. Most phones are secured with T6 (star) screws ... you can buy a T6 screwdriver at Sears. Move slow, work over a big table, keep track of where every part came from ... and put it all back together exactly the same way. Not for the faint of heart ... and do not do this for the more advanced PDA or camera phones.

2) Some people have some success baking the phone in an oven over a long period of time. Again, first remove the battery. I've had customers suggest to me that 120 degrees for at least 2 hours works. I am leary of this approach myself, but they claim it works.

3) This technique was related to me by the Southwest U.S. Regional Sales Rep from Samsung. He said he's helped hundreds of people save their phones this way. Remove the battery. Turn the phone upside down, so your holding it with the charging port/opening facing straight up. Pour a bottle of denatured alcohol into those holes, so the phone fills up with the alcohol ... make sure the battery is NOT connected before doing this. Shake the phone vigorously so that the alcohol bonds with any water droplets that may be inside the phone. Turn it upside down and shake to drain some of the alcohol out. Then hold a shop vac hose up to the charging port holes to suck out the remaining alcohol. Let the phone sit for at least 2 hours before reconnecting the battery. The samsung rep claimed that this will save 90% of all phones that get wet.

There you go. Good luck. I feel for you.

Ben! Your my hero! The Monty Python "Bicycle repair man" skit comes to mind.

I'm stupid... I already tried turning it on. I have removed the battery now. I don't have a T6 screwdriver. The screws in my phone have three slots not four (understand?) What is a shop vac hose?

What's the alcohol? Do you mean Ethanol?

Three slots? like a 3 leaf clover? I've seen a few of those ... can't remember which manufacturer started using those. I don't know where you find one of those screwdrivers ... the manufacturers really do not want you getting into your own phone and repairing them, as you won't buy another one for that much longer. So taking the phone apart might be hard.

Denatured Alcohol is like Rubbing Alcohol. But if I'm not mistaken, Rubbing Alcohol (packaged at pharmacies and chemists as Isopropyl Alcohol) is only 70% alcohol. Denatured Alcohol or Ethyl Alcohol is generally available in a higher percentage alcohol formulation, and that is important so that no residue is left on the circuitboard after the alcohol evaporates.

The Denatured Alcohol in this WikiPedia article is 94% alcohol

Check with your local pharmacy or chemist for availability.

A shop vac is an industrial vaccuum for home use that is designed to vaccuum solids and liquids. You can also use the vaccuum at a car wash in a pinch.

Yeah, I figured the three leaf clover ones were to stop you getting into them. I tried with a small electrical screwdriver I have, but no luck.

So the old addage is true? The higher alcohol percentage the better? I will try to find something at the shops. I have some high grade whiskey here, but that would be a waste.

I already turned it on though. Some strange sounds came out of it. Is all hope lost? If I follow your steps could a miracle happen?

Yesterday I had the best convo ever.

My friends mom was eavesdropping on me and my friend's IM session -- here's the printout

[April: Saturday:11:16:26 AM] Skyler || Bored as Hell, Minnesota :|: I don't think my mum is even awake yet
[April: Saturday:11:16:35 AM] Bryan - Eggnog!: lol
[April: Saturday:11:17:59 AM] Skyler || Bored as Hell, Minnesota :|: Well then. I know your mom would never pick me up. Nor your dad. Why are they both so assholish about that?
[April: Saturday:11:18:13 AM] Bryan - Eggnog!: I dunno o.o
[April: Saturday:11:19:00 AM] Skyler || Bored as Hell, Minnesota :|: The one time your father drove me home, he acted really ajitated at my mom. Like he did her a HUUUUUUUUUUUGE favor and she didn't say thanks
[April: Saturday:11:19:13 AM] Bryan - Eggnog!: o.o
[April: Saturday:11:32:06 AM] Skyler || Bored as Hell, Minnesota :|: Wierd, huh?
[April: Saturday:11:32:26 AM] Skyler || Bored as Hell, Minnesota :|: Mmmm.... My mouth still tastes like blood(good thing\)
[April: Saturday:11:32:39 AM] Bryan - Eggnog!: o.o
[April: Saturday:12:10:58 PM] Skyler || Bored as Hell, Minnesota :|: Okay. 1:45 is good, right?
[April: Saturday:12:11:10 PM] Bryan - Eggnog!: yeah
[April: Saturday:12:11:13 PM] Skyler || Bored as Hell, Minnesota :|: Kay
[April: Saturday:12:11:29 PM] Skyler || Bored as Hell, Minnesota :|: la la la

[this is when bryan's mom cut in(look at the time difference)]

[April: Saturday:12:40:04 PM] Bryan - Eggnog!: The reason we "act so assholish" as you say, is because you are a rude, inconsiderate person, with a foul mouth and a strange sense of entitlement. once you rid yourself of those attributes, then maybe people would want to do more for you.
[April: Saturday:12:40:46 PM] Skyler || Bored as Hell, Minnesota :|: Hey, I'm just acting with what I see.
[April: Saturday:12:41:13 PM] Bryan - Eggnog!: as are we...
[April: Saturday:12:41:34 PM] Skyler || Bored as Hell, Minnesota :|: Also, it was rude of you to read someone else's confidential conversation, therby not making me me, but you, the bad guy
[April: Saturday:12:42:09 PM] Skyler || Bored as Hell, Minnesota :|: When eavesdropping, you kind of lose the right to have any resentment
[April: Saturday:12:42:45 PM] Skyler || Bored as Hell, Minnesota :|: See what I'm saying?
[April: Saturday:12:43:48 PM] Skyler || Bored as Hell, Minnesota :|: Maybe assholish wasn't so much trhe word as non-outgoing, or selfish
[April: Saturday:12:45:10 PM] Skyler || Bored as Hell, Minnesota :|: Oh, and I don't know where you get my "strange sense of entitlement"
[April: Saturday:12:46:50 PM] Skyler || Bored as Hell, Minnesota :|: REally, when have I ever acted pius or holier-than-thou towards you]
[April: Saturday:12:48:39 PM] Bryan - Eggnog!: when someone uses a shared resource to communicate and leave the dialogue box open, then it is not confidential. and as for your refinement of the word-choice, semantics, and your "entitlement attitude" is exuded in the air about you. when one thinks that someone does not do a FAVOR for them and becuase of that, labels them as you have, that is one example of entitlement.
[April: Saturday:12:48:50 PM] Bryan - Eggnog!: i'm done with this for now
[April: Saturday:12:48:55 PM] Skyler || Bored as Hell, Minnesota :|: By the way, I was just talking about picking me up and dropping me off.
[April: Saturday:12:49:32 PM] Skyler || Bored as Hell, Minnesota :|: Oh my. Bryan was right. You really DO imagine tones in peoples voices
[April: Saturday:12:49:53 PM] Skyler || Bored as Hell, Minnesota :|: Oh, and I can't close the dialog from here in my house
[April: Saturday:12:50:13 PM] Skyler || Bored as Hell, Minnesota :|: Well... Unless you WANT me to create a backdoor in that laptop of yours
[April: Saturday:12:51:39 PM] Skyler || Bored as Hell, Minnesota :|: And by "for now" do you mean that when I come over to compile my science prject with bryan, that you're going to try to do something you may regret towards me?
[April: Saturday:12:52:50 PM] Skyler || Bored as Hell, Minnesota :|: As to the "common medium," I have ears. So do you. When people talk, it can be heard by all. Still called eavesdropping.
[April: Saturday:12:53:00 PM] Skyler || Bored as Hell, Minnesota :|: Maybe that gives you some nerw insight?
[April: Saturday:12:57:47 PM] Skyler || Bored as Hell, Minnesota :|:
Self log for the printout:
[April: Saturday:13:00:01 PM] Skyler || Bored as Hell, Minnesota :|: After eavesdropping, it would seem that there is an additude here, too. When eavesdropping, one must realise that they lose the right to judge through common sense. Although I don't know why it didnt close the window(was it to prove you had nosy parents? Laziness?) that still gave no rights.
[April: Saturday:13:01:04 PM] Skyler || Bored as Hell, Minnesota :|: That was already said
[April: Saturday:13:01:10 PM] Skyler || Bored as Hell, Minnesota :|: and to that, I responded:
[April: Saturday:13:01:15 PM] Skyler || Bored as Hell, Minnesota :|: As to the "common medium," I have ears. So do you. When people talk, it can be heard by all. Still called eavesdropping.
[April: Saturday:13:04:28 PM] Skyler || Bored as Hell, Minnesota :|: Wait. You HONESTLY think you're better than me?
[April: Saturday:13:05:28 PM] Skyler || Bored as Hell, Minnesota :|: You just went so far as to insult ME and MY LIFE. MY ENTIRE LIFE, and you still think that you're more polite and an all around better person?
[April: Saturday:13:05:37 PM] Skyler || Bored as Hell, Minnesota :|: That's pitiful.
[April: Saturday:13:13:04 PM] Skyler || Bored as Hell, Minnesota :|: Look. If this explains anything, my life has not been all I have been expecting. In fact, so badly that I've thought of suicide multiple times. At many points of the day I feel like dying. I'm being evicted from my apartment, for one thing. I've been feeling like everybody's last choice. Nothing has been going right, recently. I'm in a state of mental turmoil with no point of direction. It's terrible to know my life will always be like this, and I can't do anything about it.
[April: Saturday:13:14:58 PM] Bryan - Eggnog!: what are you talking about? o.o
[April: Saturday:13:16:58 PM] Bryan - Eggnog!: what did I do?
[April: Saturday:13:23:54 PM] Skyler || Bored as Hell, Minnesota :|: I'll give yopu the printout at school, Bryan
[April: Saturday:13:24:04 PM] Bryan - Eggnog!: o.o
[April: Saturday:13:24:07 PM] Bryan - Eggnog!: what happened?
[April: Saturday:13:24:12 PM] Skyler || Bored as Hell, Minnesota :|: I decided I'm not going over for fear of kitchen knives at your house
[April: Saturday:13:24:19 PM] Bryan - Eggnog!: O.o
[April: Saturday:13:24:40 PM] Bryan - Eggnog!: seriously, what were you going on about earlier? I was with my math tutor
[April: Saturday:13:25:54 PM] Skyler || Bored as Hell, Minnesota :|: I'll shouw youi the whole convo printed out on monday
[April: Saturday:13:26:01 PM] Skyler || Bored as Hell, Minnesota :|: one sec

So fun.

Yay!

With enough persistence I was able to get my internet back!

Got to love annoying customers that call every three minutes until the problem is fixed (me).
