If you can buy Cuban cigars, weed, and GHB on the Internet and have it shipped to your home in America, I don't see how this ban is really going to stop anyone who wants to smoke a clove.

No, the US tobacco companies made sure that menthol was the one flavor not included in the ban. But maybe they will come back to it if this ban holds.

You're worried about a government deciding what you can or can't have? Aren't you a nazi?

....Are they REALLY saying that this is about kids? Why in God's name would they do this for any other reason than the massive tax dollars? I'm missing a lot here, so show me some pity....
Anyway, I've only ever smoked one Black, and it was like nothing I had experienced before. It was amazing. It lit up my mouth like a christmas tree, and I want another, and all I'm being told is I can't have it? Boo.
I started on regular fucking cigarettes, and I'll still smoke them IF I feel like it, and.... God, this is just retarded.

Full Flavor if I can.

Yes they are. Protecting children was not only a lie but their main trust for passing the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act. The idea was that flavor, other then menthol (mint), was only there to hook kids. The only reason menthol was excluded was due to tobacco company involvement in drafting the bill.

You can read the act at http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=h111-1256

I used to smoke cloves. If I ever started smoking again I would've probably smoked cloves.

Oh well, now I won't start smoking again.

I'm taking a trip overseas next autumn and bringing back as many cloves as I can afford. Customs doesn't care as long as I declare!

My SO has started puffing on some of the E-cigs and because it's not smoke but a nicotine (or non-nicotine if you want) infused flavored water vapor, it's not governed by the same laws. She can puff away on the thing anywhere she wants to ... restaurants, stores, wherever. Doesn't bother anyone else at all. She says it's as satisfying as smoking on a regular cigarette without the added tars and chemicals.

She can choose whatever flavor she wants: menthol, root beer, vanilla, peach, cheesecake, blueberry, Jack and coke, Marlboro flavor ... there are hundreds more. And she's started getting good at mixing her own flavors. So I'm sure a clove flavor could be concocted.

It's probably not going to be satisfying to everyone, but it is another option.

The E-cigarette is a wonderful advancement but it cuts out the tobacco companies so the good o boys in DC aren't too keen on it. It represents an even bigger thread to US tobacco then foreign tobacco. The puppets at the FDA have been in full disinformation mode over the e-cigarette and their "research", feed by tobacco money, has turned up everything bad but Hoffa's bones in e-cigarette.

"The FDA has been examining and detaining shipments of e-cigarettes at the border" - FDA

"...concern that electronic cigarettes could increase nicotine addiction and tobacco use in young people" - FDA

http://www.fda.gov/NewsEvents/Newsro.../ucm173222.htm

Have you watched late night TV? You know how many FDA unapproved drugs and remedies are sold there? It's a big fucking number. But the FDA is not "detaining shipments" of that snake oil!! No the fucking fuckers don't care about that because corporate interests are not adversely affected by that crap.

The FDA must be stopped!! I hate government corruption.

Yeah, my SO has talked to me about the FDA (acting as Big Tobacco's lap dog) is putting up the gauntlet to stop, restrict or tax eCigs out of existence. She even has a bunch of websites and forums where she keeps up with the disinformation campaign. It does suck.

As much as I dislike the FDA, anyone who tries to stop them (on more than a single-issue level) is bound to get shot in the process. They aren't particularly fond of being challenged.
