And in reply to jacqueline... What you said just proves that the goth seen is about thought and feeling and not how much black you wear..

I remember when you had to wait a couple of minutes to be able to access internet.

I also remember a time when Nintendo was the best in videogames.

And I remember a time when I misread the bible and thought Jesus married his mother Mary.

I remember when I first saw a kid with a mohawk, at age 4, and decided that was the coolest thing ever and I wanted to be just like that when I grew up.

I do remember a time when nobody used (or owned) cell phones and nobody had internet. So there...

Haha, speaking about cell phones...
I bet you there's no city (not even L.A. or New York) in where cell phones are as famous as they are here.
A new phone appears, and you'll see about five people per grade with it by the next day, with the rest of them having other new models; just not the newest.
But the best example - the one I always laugh at and wish I had been there - is one that happened to my best friend:
A tarahumara (people native to the mountains of my state that come to the city to ask for money) asked her for some money while checking her inbox text messages!

I remember when I used to find the idea of sex was disgusting (a long time ago)...

I remember when emo was "emotional hardcore" in flannel and horn-rimmed glasses, not a shoddy tag-along little brother of goth.

I remember that too. I also remember when it wasn't an pandemic, all-purpose insult.

When I was younger, I actually thought the same thing.

I remember when my cousin told me about her first "french kiss" and I was disgusted, thinking, "why would someone put their tongue in another's mouth?"

I remember when Marilyn Manson (and all the crap that followed) didn't exist. All we had to get annoyed at were NINnies and dorky bands like Lestat. God, those were the days.

Oh, and I also remember when NIN (and subsequently NINnies) didn't exist as well. Things were a bit simpler then.

I remember when my elementary school banned Tamagochi on the last day of school. All us kids laughed at them for it. Course, the ban was still in effect the next year, but...

My cousin still thinks that they are cool, along with all her friends.

I remember when I called anyone who didn't like me my "enemy".

I remember when it was perfectly acceptable to kiss my little friends on the cheek, even if I had only known them for an hour.

I remember spending a 60 minute time limit in Perfect Dark's combat simulator just throwing knives into people's heads. Awesome.

I remember feeling really naughty by using the phone for the first time without asking my parents...but I didn't have the phone numbers of any friends so I called my grandma and asked her what she was going to have for tea.

I remember learning every thing was a lie, and that Alf wasn't actually an alien, just a mere puppet, bouncing along on the whim of the TV network.

It was a sad, sad day...

I remember when all you had to do for school was finger paint and be nice to the other classmates. Not that I followed the latter...but yea....
