Yes they do. If I remember Potassium being K that is. Anyway, yes. It's quite explosive.

Mm, then it's probably because sodium and potassium are so similar.
I loved chemistry, but wasn't great at it, because I'm terrible with math.

The only math we ever needed to use in chemistry was scientific notation, which is remarkably easy.

Well, I don't know what class you were in, but I was taking an advanced course, and it used math a lot, which I wasn't good at to begin with. What's more was that while I was in really advanced classes for science, English, French, etc...not math. So any class that used math put me at a disadvantage.

Ah, I was not in an advanced class, I was in the class you had to take in order to graduate. In fact, I took it twice because I failed it the first time. I knew the stuff, I just didn't care, much like the rest of my classes.

If you're interested in "dark classical" as I believe you mentioned, I would suggest "The Host Of Seraphim" by Dead Can Dance, and just kind of go from there. Welcome to g-net!

It's black, and is made of a see through material. It's certainly nothing to be worn in very cold weather, haha.

I've heard of Nightwish, but I've not yet listened to it. I'll have to remember to check that and the others.

Are you kidding? Goth is one of the most varied genres out there. I mean, it encompasses everything from Dead Can Dance, Lycia, Black Tape for a Blue Girl, to Ausgang, Sex Gang Children, and Virgin Prunes, to the Sisters, Mission, Wake, to Alien Sex Fiend and Red Lorry Yellow Lorry. That's like four subgenres right there, not to mention more esoteric crossovers like gothabilly, dark cabaret, deathrock, dark avante garde, etc.

Eh, I would refrain from using the word "gothic" as a theme, because then everything gets too broad and confusing. I mean, following that notion, a portion of some music like country or hip-hop could be considered gothic because it might have some dark content.
But anyway, we have digressed.
@ the OP: Welcome to g-net.

That's not what I meant either.
I for one find it less confusing using post punk or deathrock for anything subculture related, and Gothic for everything else.

Ah, but you see, there's post punk that isn't goth rock.

Ah but you see, I don't care. I'm a firm believer in Gothic being a word to describe a theme, as well as architecture and type of horror, literature... etc.
If a band sounds nothing like deathrock or darkwave or gothic ROCK, but has a gothic theme, no I won't say it's gothic ROCK, but I will have no problem saying that they are gothic.
Some people don't like it, and get all uppity trying to protect their subculture, but it just makes them word Nazis. It is only confusing if people choose to make it so, or if they act like complete elitists and choose to completely own the word thinking that no one else can use it unless they use it by THEIR standards.

Oh shut up. That was lame and completely unoriginal.
Really, you think dissing bands that are considered supposedly "poser" makes you look cool in front of your friends? It doesn't. It just shows you go along with the pact.
Good job.

I think he was being playfully snarky.
GC, I like you, but you really take things the wrong way sometimes...frequently.

Relax, Crow, I was just being silly. BTW, it's pack, not pact.
You're right, it was unoriginal. But I wasn't trying to be original or anything. Just being playful.
I don't quite understand why you gotta be hatin' on me, Crow. You're one of my favorite people here.

I don't hate you on, that comment just seemed very judgmental especially after the things myself and some other people were saying.
I don't hate you at all. Thanks for the spelling correction as well.
I'm a bit fiery with my reactions sometimes (maybe more than sometimes).

Well, in my defense you can't hear people's tone of voice on a forum. Also I've been known to be a little biatchy (in real life), not that it's an excuse.

I second the Emilie Autumn recommendation, and am suggesting Midnight Syndicate as well. Gorgeously haunting classical music...their work tends to sound like it should be the soundtrack to a dark Victorian thriller involving flickering candlelight and an asylum full of ghosts.

I would like them better if they had a singe. Oh, well I can sing, WHAT DO YOU KNOW! That is a very lovely coincidence. If they let me sing for them, I'd be thrilled.
