To almost the North Pole:
Hello Demonia. I see that you are from Sweden and your favorite author of the moment is Lindqvist. I saw Let The Right One In, the Swedish version with the horrible dubbed English added to the charm of the film I think but I loved the movie so much(for religious reasons) that I read the book.
The book pissed me off with the fast one it pulled. Even though it gave the reader fair warning with Eli's insistence that she's not a girl, still I felt It was a dirty trick. The movie quite wisely decided not to take this route and the story remains a dark love story between a boy and a little vampire GIRL. Other than that I enjoyed the book.
What I'm curios about however, with you being from Sweden is we're you aware of the emergence of the first generation Black Metal bands with the church burnings and doom and gloom everywhere? Iv'e read a book about it (read it twice in fact.) called Lords of Chaos. Are you familiar with It?

The book is better in my opinion, maybe because I read it before I watched the movie? Have you seen the English version?
I can't say I'm much into Black Metal bands and stuff, nor church burnings. And I haven't read the book. I would love to read it, tho.
Many people in Sweden are born Christians (including me, bah, but I'm not a member of the church anymore.) I don't get it, you know... Christianity and religions in general pisses me off.

I'm 99.9999999% sure Spookycreep is a troll, and if not I'm 100% sure he's worth ignoring anyway. Do join me.
But I also love Let The Right One In, and the book was a million times better. I can't find Lindqvist's zombie book anywhere, I got his new book but I haven't had time to read it yet *sigh*. Nevertheless, Let The Right One In was awesome and one of my favourite books.

Which is his latest book? I have four of his books; Let The Right One In, Handling The Undead, Paperwalls and Harbour.

Harbour! That's it, I was too lazy to google. I don't think Paper Walls has come to Canada yet, I haven't heard of it.

I've seen the American version. Didn't like it much, I don't see the idea of a remake that tells pertty much the exact same story. I agree the book is better than the movie. The scene where the old man getting out of the cab at the hospitial and spots Eli was down-right chilling. I had to stop reading for a moment and enjoy the creepyness of it. Plus, the book explained many things only implied but never explained in the film, like why Eli broke the necks of her victims_ a cool idea.
Even so, I still think the sex-change in mid-stream was a dirty trick to play on the reader. A little more warning could have been given before the reader got comfortable with the idea that this was a love story between a little boy and a little girl. I'ts not a good thing to piss the readers off with stunts like this, i felt like the rug had been snatched from under me.
Also I love the little actress who played Eli plus I loved the voice used in the English dubbing of the film. It went well with this dark, mysterious little vampire girl. This added to my surpise and disappointment when I read the book.

I don't know why, but when I saw your intro thread I thought, "Hasn't 'Demonia' been used as a handle here already?"
Apparently not ... or I'm remembering someone else.
Anyway, welcome!
